Two very different 'media figures' were intersecting somehow in this world of consumerism-driven aesthetics/fashions.

One is a movie-star and the other a snowboarding instructor for the Olympics, and they both love movies about sports!

The two figures are Puck and Cruise, and they both appreciate the market-value of magazine-consciousness and commerce driven networking (e.g., Facebook, Planet Hollywood). They're both religious individuals but also appreciate the 'liberal' media exercises of Western civilization (e.g., MTV).

PUCK: I'm making a series of artworks/poems characterizing snowboarding as a 'James Bond' like modern winter activity.

Puck and Cruise were both affiliated with a very prestigious New England Ivy League school which promoted a healthy human appreciation of the comforting peaceful silence of a North American snowy winter season.

PUCK: My snowboarding art(s)/teaching(s) shall stir in others a great media-era love of liberal gallivanting on Earth!

Now, Puck's snowboarding work in North America made him a cyber-forums 'celebrity' of great Earth exploits and insights, and this complemented Cruise's approach to social activity through the hallmarks of cinema-diaries.

CRUISE: It's challenging wandering around the modern city on Earth, trying to shop, avoiding fans/photojournalists!

The two meet each other in Zurich during an Olympics media-event and become fast-friends and they discover their shared fascination with GI Joe comics (Marvel/IDW). This was a terrific friendship and it spawned the purchasing of a vintage/valued Havoc (GI Joe) military snow-vehicle called the 'Havoc' which they now shared as snow-buddies (Puck/Cruise)!

All good things must end, and Puck met a gorgeous Volunteer(s) cheerleader named Pammy and fell in love and married her and spent all his time with her when he's not snowboarding/teaching, and hence, he drifted from Cruise, thanks to his new beauty (Pammy).

Cruise meanwhile ironically also met a Volunteer(s) cheerleader named Katrina and fell in love with her and married her! He too drifted away from his snow-buddy Puck. Now the two were as separate/different as 'knight' and 'day' and it's all because of Pammy/Katrina!

PUCK: I'll remember our times together playing with the Havoc model-war vehicle, dreaming of the end of terrorism.

CRUISE: It was a cool small-time friendship, and it resulted in a discovered passion for military toys in the snowy hills!

What's the point of this story about incidental friendship illuminating 'arrows' of media-era imagination(s)? Well, it's a tale of short-time friendship linked to consumerism diadems (GI Joe Havoc-vehicle) and its strange illumination of Western civilization daydreams. Will Puck/Cruise ever become friends again (perhaps not)? What's certain is that this new age of networking-driven customs/intelligence seems to create constant 'folk-tales' about the very odd nature of modern Earth distancing.
