Speed-Racer: Danger Dr.

A vignette about a 'dream-sleep' adventure about dangerous road-racing and thoughts of inspired drive.

Alright, this is definitively my final short, and it's got nothing to do with football and is inspired instead by the very cool cartoon Speed Racer and I hope you like it!

A modern race-card driver named Satan was about to be transported inside the world of dangerous/adventurous race-car driving. He'd watched Speed Racer cartoons on TV (Japan/USA) and appreciated the imagination behind high-speed driving and racing, but now he wanted to literally go inside that kind of a universe!

Satan was a very skilled road-driving man with an acumen/thinking of a real racer! He'd loved Speed Racer cartoons as a kid and watched through college (Dartmouth) and was now an 'ace' in his inherited McLaren which he drove around in La Jolla, Sacramento, and Napa (California!).

Satan then dreamt he'd been transported inside the wondrous and dangerous/adventurous universe of Speed Racer! He'd become one of the iconic 'masked racers' in the thrilling and deadly and imaginative road-races involving the famous celebrity racer 'Speed' and various other 'characters' each boasting an outstanding vehicle for drive.

Satan was given a very special race-car indeed while inside this 'dream-universe' of danger/adventure, and he called it the Mach (a 'personalized' avatar-name for his beloved real California McLaren). He'd now get behind this 'Mach' car and participate in the wondrous road-races involving very tight turns on cliff-roads, beach speeding, off-road skills, and potentially twisting race-moments requiring absolute focus on avoiding crashes or lags. The Mach became Satan's special vehicle for his dream-sleep imagination.

Satan drove the Mach with great skill and daring and also noted the less skilled or focused drivers in this dream-universe who'd sadly become 'statistics' of the inevitable crash-scenes of such dangerous/adventurous racing actions and sequences. Satan thought to himself that racing in such a climate was akin to handling war-machinery or high-speed Wall Street trading, all requiring immediate concentration, reflex, sympathy, and of course, confidence!

When Satan woke from this quite amazing dream-sleep adventure of road-racing in his 'Mach' vehicle, he decided to 'race' to the La Jolla new art museum to purchase an iconic work of modernism aesthetics featuring landscape portraits of the Autobahn, the celebrated/hyped German road-stretch where many-a driving aficionado would choose to 'indulge' their Earthly fascination with car-demos and danger controls.

SATAN: The saddest deaths on Earth may occur through car-accidents/crashes, which is why we need to think of dogma.
