Shiva/Sati*

Shiva/Sati*

A Story by Abishai100
"

Two 'messengers' of modernism (Amlan/Sandy) may ironically be immortal deities (Shiva/Sati) on Earth for distancing.

"
A story about civilization romanticism, inspired loosely by Up Close and Personal (Robert Redford) and featuring Eastern mythology avatars (Shiva and Sati), though there's no direct allusion to any distinct socialized democracy. Enjoy!

Amlan is a sociologist who's been making collages using images from magazine-culture in Western civilization re-presenting storylines/imagination(s) about American sports (e.g., football) cheerleaders. He's become a cheerleader 'nerdist' evaluating the psychological contours of the promotion of social activities on a media-level (e.g., NBC-TV).

While doing his special civilization research, Amlan fell in love with one of his 'subjects' in the West, a Volunteer(s) cheerleader named Sandy who'd been cheering for her iconic college-football team since her freshman year. Because she'd now become a senior-year captain of her cheerleading-squad, Amlan had more social space to consider asking this now social leader/captain of the campus to marry him.

The irony of this folk-tale is that Amlan/Sandy are actually the heavenly Eastern deities Shiva (god of destruction) and Sari (goddess of felicity) without their knowing! They'd been 'drawn' into Earth civilization because of the draws/twists of civilization(s) processes and had become 'diplomats' of sociology-IQ, one a culture-academic (Amlan) and the other a cheerleader of Western sportsmanship (Sandy). Shiva/Sati had in the heavens represented pure romance behind male-female trust, and on Earth, they'd become messengers of intelligence(s) drama. Shiva/Sati (Amlan/Sandy) were now therefore the new Adam and Eve!

AMLAN (Shiva): We'll place all our shared valuables in a British Columbia bank safe-box, Sandy.
SANDY (Sati): This shall be a 'toast' to the shared amenities of civilization securities, love.

Will this odd dual-coupling of two diplomats of the modern era, Amlan and Sandy (Shiva and Sati), become a 'diadem' of gender-customs in this developed age of network-driven imagination(s) (e.g., MTV's The Real World)? After all, hadn't civilization become a pluralist 'form' of dialogue (e.g., Divorce-Court)?
