1972: Vikings-Dolphins (Cheerleader's Diary?)

A Story by Abishai100
"

An inquiry into what composes American sports-imagination(s) dawn-dolls.

"
A portrait of a single NFL football-season game (forecasting, arguably, Super Bowl-7) and why'd it capture our obsession(s) with socialized distancing, inspired very loosely by Any Given Sunday (Oliver Stone).
DISCLAIMER: I have no 'official' ties to the team(s) referenced in this work-of-fiction and intend this only to be a 'vignette' about fanfare-date(s) in modern-America.

I'm a Vikings cheerer/fan, which is why I follow/adore those 'lovely-ladies' of the Minnesota cheerleading-squad, as a patriot-fan of modern media 'access' to social activities such as famed national sports (Super Bowl-TV).

I've followed the Vikings lore since the days of Tarkenton and into the modern free-agency Brett Favre era, and I continue to hope in that my famed American color-team (Purple People Eaters!) will someday capture the 'iconic' Lombardi, making me the official 'nerdist' of the amazing Thomas Nast oriented sports-culture market(s)/detective(s).

When the 1972 destined Dolphins faces the Vikings in an October 1 game, no one could anticipate (really!) that such a 'normal-season' game would reflect/characterize why this destined Miami team would capture a 'perfect' season (culminating in a Lombardi trophy). Only the truly-defiant Vikings stood in their way (really!).

The Dolphins 'squeaked' out a 16-14 win (thanks 'entirely' by a 10-7 scoring 'edge' in the 4th) after only leading 7-6 into that last infinite quarter (4th!). This was history-in-making, and it rode all over those beautiful Vikings (Minnesota)!

SANDY (Dolphins-Cheerleader): I love football-lens(ed) films like Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey), and this is a 'game' of demos.

This is really a 'cheerleader-diary' of what comprises the 'gist' or core of the modern sports-matrix spirit(s), and we all know that the supreme champion of such a 'tournament'-ladder will reveal a 'victor' of customs-definition(s) diligence.

Why'd a cheerleader (e.g., Dolphins) care so much about a single-season game, albeit it 'defined' the quality/face of the vaunted undefeated/perfect Miami football-season which'd promote many folktales and even movie allusions/references. This was the age of personalized/diary-oriented discs.
