The Thing (Adventure-Comics!)

Snake-Eyes works for the US gov't on 'Ice Station Zebra' (Arctic) with a political/military crew and encounters an alien 'Thing' requiring great distance(s)!

A comics re-presentation of the iconic sci-fi horror masterpiece of John Carpenter, The Thing (Kurt Russell), which has nothing at all to do with sports or capitalism (really). Enjoy!

Snake-Eyes is a government operative working on a covert diamond experiment ice-station for the US government in the Arctic.

He's both trained, uniformed, weaponized, and prepared for anything unusual during the government station's 'ice-work' in diamond-experiments involving lasers. The members of this 'Ice Station Zebra' (USA) are fitted with equipment, weapons, and scientific gear, and Snake-Eyes is the lead soldier for the C-Project.

Another member of Ice Station Zebra is the American political figure Desiree who's been studying patterns of laser marketing in Western civilization and has until now been more of a 'society-chic' figure but will now have to be more 'ice-station' ready, but she feels 'safe' with Snake-Eyes!

SNAKE-EYES: This project is top-mission and the lasers were using are key, and we use a water-vessel for underwater stuff.

Desiree's lovely young daughter Jasmine is also at the ice-station (US) and Snake-Eyes has befriended her and spends long hours playing Uno-cards games with her. This is almost like home, albeit it can feel cold and alienating, but Jasmine's the right inspiration-note for Snake-Eyes and the entire Zebra site!

SNAKE-EYES: We have guns up the wall(s), and these guns throw fire as well as lasers, which should come in handy for Hell!

During an underwater portion of the research project in the cold/icy Arctic, Snake-Eyes encounters a venomous and alien sea-beast 'leviathan' which he calls the Thing. This is obviously some alien organism from another planet which has made its secret 'home' on Earth, and the US government has found it. The 'Thing' is capable of absorbing the human bodies/flesh of its Earth victims which it uses to feed its energy-levels and grow in size or number by auto-replication. Snake-Eyes has to use his laser-guns and his soldier-friends on Zebra (ice-station US) to shoot at the vision-targeting eyes of the Thing and all its cannibal offspring!

SNAKE-EYES: The 'Thing' (this alien creature of 'leviathan') is dead, dead, dead; and we can now go home in pure awe!

When the heroic survivors of the Zebra C-Project in the Arctic return home, they're informed by the mission-disclosure experts in DC that this 'adventure' will be re-presented in various youth-targeted comic books in the USA to 'sell' the idea that modern military readiness is the 'hallmark' of our species' grip on Earth dowry.

SNAKE-EYES: Hopefully, Jasmine will think the highest of all this consumer-market placements of this sci-horror encounter!

Is our government 'truly' prepared to handle all conditions of extreme emergency in this new era of high Earth traffic and science(s)-proliferation(s)? Snake-Eyes feels hopeful, and now he does because of this new 'alien trophy' involving that now-extinct 'Thing' leviathan/creature encountered/discovered (and now cataloged!) in the Arctic.
