A strange new Western 'dogma' sees a 'prototypical' family in DC challenged, and this 'Purge' might 'edify' the depression!

Welcome to DC, the nation's capital, where the great flowery of sportsmanship and marketing(s) creates a special consciousness regarding traffic, democracy, opportunity, and fashionable governance. This is America. This is the place of great television and social distancing.

Washington is a place of symbolic value. It's the place of revolution(s) and great history and modern traffic imagination(s). It's the place where a strange new culture-shift is occurring regarding the displacement of police policy and the processes of design(s).

A humble and happy DC family in the suburbs right outside Washington has just moved into a very nice home, and it's composed of a man and his wife and adopted daughter Wendy. This family is the Satan family, Algerian and Greek and Irish in cultural identity (man/woman/child), and the suburban residence they occupy has to be secured from a modern revolution known as the Purge which has rendered their quaint American dream house a diadem of security.

What is the Purge? Well, since the end of WWII and the advent of UN policies and intelligence, there's been a steady growing strange unrest in global traffic in the streets. This began with the sudden collapse of the USSR with Russia's strange capitalism frowns and disability in dealing with rogue interests (e.g., Chechnya, Ukraine). We'd seen such street 'angst' in other places such as Bosnia and in the LA Race Riots of 1992. The police felt helpless and hence the Purge was enacted to confront all these 'natural' human yearnings for rebellion/violence!

The protests endorsing the Purge were everywhere and especially 'pronounced' in Washington. These street rallies signaled a failure in mainstream/centralized governance systems to deal with mob psychology and catharsis needs. The Purge was a way to vent all these social frustrations and fears by 'sanctioning' an annual night of ritualized and 'legalized' unfiltered and unlimited crime/violence, so this would prevent crimes/violence from flowing into mainstream streets for the remainder of the governed year in any given state/nation.

The Satan family, previously 'introduced' (or mentioned!) earlier is composed of an Algerian-American architect-businessman named Amlan Satan, an Ivy League graduate and homeowner of that lovely outside-DC suburban residential property in which he lives alongside his Greek-American wife Shelley and their adopted Irish daughter Wendy. Amlan is a real 'nerdist' of capitalism and is part of the 'aristocracy' in Western civilization otherwise 'immune' from the annual Purge.

Amlan's wife Shelley is a Greek-American artist who sells self-portraits artwork(s) of herself online (cyber-stores!). She's a real nice angel in Amlan Satan's life and has given him a sense of real sanity/security. They live together in that very nice DC residential home in the suburbs right outside Washington and are 'immune' from the annual Purge event(s) and is therefore simply focusing on her art on the Purge night this year.

Their adopted Irish daughter Wendy was a troubled child in sectarian violent Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK), where the underclass/under-employed Irish-Catholic minority population living alongside the British-Protestant majority community (descended from generations of English colonial 'settlers') were frustrated by forms of governance under-representation and affirmative-action employment assistance policy program(s) failures. Wendy was adopted by Amlan/Shelley and brought to the United States where she may enjoy the general fruits of Western civilization fortunes and amenities and be free of the social frowns and worries, including the Purge, which is 'distant' from Wendy because of her newfound amazing aristocratic American status!

AMLAN: The news-stories/images of the Purge abound (everywhere), and our Satan family's simply at home watching TV.

SHELLEY: Our home-security system(s) for the Purge are state-of-art and financed by Amlan's company and give us relief!

WENDY: We'd have a normal day on the Purge night, and I waved 'hi' to our paper-boy Sam (my 'boyfriend').

However, all's not well in Paradise, as a special rogue faction of the Purge element(s) have targeted the Satan family. You see folks, for ordinary circumstance(s), the Satan family would be pardoned for this annual night of ritualized violence. There's the normal night of runners/hunters, those who're designated as the 'killers' and violence messengers (criminals/murderers!) and those who're self-appointed as the 'runners' (those who flee/evade from these killers/hunters!). These runners/hunters have agreed to 'pardon' the aristocratic American families like the Satans who've been marked as 'immune' but somehow this Purge night has declared the Satan family as somehow a special occasion target. That's why a stranger in mask has been staring and staking-out the Satan residence/home on the day of the Purge.

AMLAN: I think the Purge people have marked us special for bloody murder since we're symbolically aristocratic; we'll think.

When the college-youth faction of the masked Purge element(s) killers show up at Amlan Satan's front-door and demand to be allowed entry despite their 'aristocratic security-system(s)', Amlan Satan is prepared to negotiate/debate and declares to these ruffians/rascals that the only national rationale for being targeted as 'aristocratic prey' is that their residential property/home is beautiful. He insists to this greeting Purge element at his front-door that the Satan family home is simply a 'diadem' of fortune(s)...not political destiny (they smile at the security-camera...but consent to pardon the family!).

PURGE KILLER: Why'd you pardon the Satan family, despite the ordained sanction(s) for bloody murder?
PURGE MEMBER: We'd been 'persuaded' that the Washington residence of the Satans was simply a wealth fence!

PURGE KILLER: Are you certain this pardon was normalized by the design(s) of Purge anarchy?

PURGE MEMBER: We're sure, friend, that the Purge will continue to 'flow' in America, despite the Satan pardon.

PURGE KILLER: Very well, then; we'll pursue our otherwise picket-fence devastation, with the Satan family as a pardon.

PURGE MEMBER: Excellent; this will be a flyer for the ordinance(s) of pardoned havens in times of great disorientation.

WENDY: What did the Purge people decide when they agreed to leave our house untouched, daddy?
AMLAN: We'd convinced them, darling Wendy, that our Washington home was simply symbolic of traffic distant.

SHELLEY: Let's give thanks to this kind of American dream!

So, the Purge continues. It's invisible. It's dark. It's certain. It's borderline pardon-inclusive and borderline lawless (absolute). This is the 'new' America. Fortunately, the police are for the remainder of the year adamant about normality and civics. There's church, school, post-offices, and cyber-markets. Fortunately for the Satan family, the Purge was simply an 'education' in haven-daylight(s).
