Alien: Myth

A strange encounter by a Weyland space-soldier (Amlan) leads to a humbling revelation about peaceful post-adventure darkness.

Amlan prepared to go to the uncharted planet of Origae on the Weyland vessel Sulaco, the lone pilot/crew-member to the mission to investigate an alien intelligent communication signal/frequency detected and recorded by the Weyland space-company on Earth. Amlan trained to be a diligent explorer and developed his target-shooting skills for the mission as well.

AMLAN: The Sulaco is a great spaceship and I can steer it right to land on Planet Origae and search for the alien sender.

Amlan found the alien who sent the intelligent frequency-signal Weyland detected/recorded on Earth. The hostile but intelligent alien looked like an insect-dragon which razor-claws/jaws and chased Amlan around an underground cave-tunnel system it built to lure other intelligent beings/creatures for a hunt-game for prey/food. Amlan managed to lure the 'beast' into a wall-well like area and poured hot water on the alien (which he called 'Xenomorph') and shot with his laser-handgun. He'd never forget this encounter on Origae.

AMLAN: I doubt Weyland/humanity will record anything from this debut contact but the legend of my laser-handgun.

When Amlan returned to Earth, he was stationed at a shoreline drilling base for Weyland which was mining minerals for a new diamond-enhanced laser space communication device/toy, but he'd never leave this work to return to space-exploration, convinced he'd be better off as a 'coal-miner' than an alien-fighter for Weyland's future design(s).

AMLAN: If I get married, start family, have a boy/son, I'll get him that new Weyland company Xeno-robot action-toy (guess).

What was beyond doubt was that the engagement with the Xenomorph-alien on Origae moved this valiant Weyland-company explorer/soldier (Amlan) to meditate on the Earth value of peaceful work/retirement and put behind him the natural space-ambition(s) of finding intelligent beings, making contact, and discovering danger.
