Two mermaid-sisters (Hanna/Tonya) make a 'deal' to become temp-human women to compete for a human prince and find 'true' dowry.

I wanted a Hans Christian Andersen spin on fanfiction/storywriting but one inspired by the more 'visceral' dystopian tones of 'deformative' stories presented in Brian De Palma's very unusual Sisters (Margot Kidder), and this is what I came up with. Enjoy,

Twin sisters, mermaids, Hanna and Tonya, wanted both to go above-sea and transform into human women ('females') to court a certain 'prince' of capitalism named Amlan Satan by posing/disguising as bright female professors. The two sisters/mermaids, Hanna/Tonya, made a deal with an underwater sorceress to obtain temporary human 'status' and citizenship to compete for the affection(s) of Satan (Amlan) on Earth!

HANNA: I'll go to CalTech and become an assistant-professor of linguistics and computer programming design(s)!

TONYA: I'll go to Harvard and become an assistant-professor of English folklore/mythology and woo Satan's sentiments!

Amlan Satan, a prominent 'prince of capitalism' in New England, was studying blood-diamond traffic corruption in Northern Ireland (United Kingdom) and used the field-alias 'Storm-Shadow' with Interpol-relations in Europe during the Russo-Ukrainian War as sort of a 'James Bond' rendition of Thomas Nast, posting cyber-political cartoons for the new millennium. When Hanna/Tonya approached this 'Sherlock Holmes' of capitalism structure(s) on Earth (human civilization!), they noted he'd been both a 'nerdist' and 'vigilante' of Earth society ornament(s). They wondered whom he'd choose as his 'golden-bride' --- the CalTech 'bookie' or the Harvard 'dame' of the intellectual circle(s).

When he chose neither, both sister-mermaids were formally expelled from their Earth-human quest and dispelled back into the sea-life where they'd been transformed back into the mermaids they'd been their entire lives underwater. Both grumbling, they nevertheless agreed that to simply 'win the body' of a human-female to 'win-the-heart' of a human civilization 'prince' would not simply be a cool or easy thing to do and were humbled in their basic vanities. However, what Hanna/Tonya learned during their Earth-society 'mission' was that underestimating the color(s) of natural 'ambition' would never be a 'thing' of absolute...distance(s)!
