Cyrax/EnergizerA Story by Abishai100Narrated tale of a man whose visits to the supermarket-center are marked by 'sightings' of an eccentric who seems to be...a duality.
An offbeat consumerism daydream inspired loosely by My Stepmother Is an Alien (Kim Basinger). Enjoy,

==== I go to WalMart about twice-a-month to get supplies for the working week and I find it rather convenient and happy to find everything I need in one place, and I consider this American amenity a terrific boon for modern capitalism, and I think it's why those nasty anti-Western terrorists wanted to destroy the incredible World Trade Center (NYC) with hijacked planes! ![]() However, lately, I've been noticing every time I go to WalMart a stranger who's always in a special hat and sunglasses and black mask and shirt. He looks really unusual, and I call him 'Cyrax' for his other-worldly almost alien-robot like 'Cossack' or 'ninja' appearance. Cyrax is a robot-cyborg vicious combat-warrior 'avatar' from the highly-graphic Mortal Kombat animated video-game series. I refer to this stranger at Walmart 'Cyrax' for his very eccentric 'visage' that makes him seem like something of a demon! ![]() CYRAX: I'll take a box-full of Energizer batteries today, good man! WALMART CLERK: Wow, we don't usually get such 'high interest' for our standard batteries, stranger! ![]() I noted this chat between this stranger I call 'Cyrax' at the WalMart last time I visited with a market-clerk who'd been 'pleased' the stranger/demon wanted to buy so many 'iconic' Energizer batteries for home/consumer electronics use! I decided to start 'tacking' this stranger I called 'Cyrax' at WalMart, and finally, three visits to the supermarket-center later, he dropped his wallet, and I grabbed it and didn't tell him, as he didn't notice. I wanted to look inside! He had all these photos of Irish redhead families/children in his wallet! ![]() The next time I went to WalMart and saw this stranger I call 'Cyrax' at WalMart again I presented/returned/gifted his 'magic' wallet back to him and told him I'd been 'really pleased' with all the incredible/magical photos of Irish redhead families/children in it. He smiled at me, gave me a 'high-5' sharply and told me, "I'm a painter, and I use red-hair as model-inspirations for drreamcatchers." ![]() I was in awe at this amazing/eccentric stranger I called 'Cyrax' at WalMart. The next time I went and saw him there, he'd been rummaging through a box of water-guns in the toy-aisle of the iconic supermarket-center. I approached him and asked him, "Good sir, why'd you look so 'eagerly' through this toy-box of water-guns this fine day at the supermarket-center?" He turned to me and eerily told me, "I'm making a Mortal Kombat diagram...and I'm likening myself to the 'death' weaponized Cyrax (a 'detentions' cyborg-demon)." ![]() That was it. I'd decided this bizarre/eccentric stranger I called 'Cyrax' I'd see every time I'd go to WalMart was some kind of 'psyche' wrestler whom you'd be able to 'surmise' intentions for and would ironically but 'diagonally' find your premonitions/guesses to be somehow 'revealing' or reflective of actual real-life deep complexity! He really was making some kind of expression-model of the Mortal Kombat cyborg-demon Cyrax! Then again, maybe that's why he seemed to dress like a 'dreamer' that inspired me to nickname him Cyborg. Nevertheless, there'd been a strange deformity. ![]() CYRAX: I think you're following me around, good man! AMLAN (Me): Well, it's just that...you strike me as a 'James Bond' of some kind, good sir. CYRAX: Be careful what you wish for, good man. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
