A cool vignette about a curious modern mystic whose pursuit of the magical in the market leads to intimations of destiny.

A faerie-mysticism opus inspired by Photographing Fairies. Thanks for reading,

Amlan Satan had read an iconic Irish work describing a 'living' pedestrian imagination in modern Europe and how it's arguably imprinted onto the daily lives of everyday people or even key figures in Irish society/culture. Satan, an Algerian-American had family-heritage ties to the FLN anticolonial movement in Algeria against France and was versed in Eamon De Valera's searing 'economics-oriented' political action/parallel work in 1920, India and Ireland, and had become fascinated by the human/social 'mysticism' linked with governance and 'human' intrigue.

AMLAN SATAN: Studying the 'traffic' nuances of Europe gives me a special-IQ about 'James Bond' thinking for democracy now.

Satan's a schoolteacher and cyber-blogger in New England as well as a youth-soccer league coach in Boston (USA). His literary education at Dartmouth gave him this special interest in the 'human story' about mobilizing social cultures of democracy and liberty thinking. This sort of focus led him to the mystical study of 'faeries' (winged humanoid creates of the forests offering messages of warning/wisdom!) which he felt inspired him to think more 'immortally' about the nature of magic and living consciousness. He wondered if 'faeries' were somehow 'all around us' in New England, disguised as transformed humanoids and shopping, fighting, dreaming, conversing, and traveling among us with a special 'aura' of natural political optimism!

He'd lived in New England and traveled to Thailand, Northern Ireland (train), British Columbia, and Mexico (Tijuana) and kept journals about the quality of modern social traffic and its imprints onto political idealism and imaginations about markets and money and rituals. He'd become a sort of photo-mentalism anthropologist and considered his life in New England representative of modernism isolation.

He continued his study of 'faeries' or mystical winged humanoids and wrote in his mystical journal, "I consider the notion that these winged-humanoids of the forest are disguised as humans in New England and offering special 'natural' landscape daydreams about wrought life in this era of traffic complexity' (e.g., Russo-Ukrainian War)."

He decided to start collecting paintings of faeries and hung up or mounted special ones he really liked in his New England residence. He still lived alone, having divorced his wife who became weary with his mysticism obsessions, and he now viewed his faerie study as sort of a 'chance' to indulge in the human imaginations of life's practical magic. How did faeries, for example, inform our views or understanding of traffic sobriety in times of great civilization corruption (e.g., blood-diamond traffic in Northern Ireland)?

AMLAN SATAN: I think I'll go to a supermarket (shopping-center) and take photos of people in the area who might be faeries!

He chose to visit a special super-shopping center (supermarket) In New England where he'd bring his iPhone and take images of the consumer thoroughfare and see if he'd be 'able' or 'intrigued' to identify individuals (humans!) who'd possibly be these 'faeries' disguised as humans/shoppers, perhaps sanitizing the commercial experience of supermarket-traffic and casting it as somehow deceptively and humbly idyllic.

AMLAN SATAN: Capitalism/consumerism have become linked to life's sanity, and I think there's faeries showing democracy!

Satan (Amlan!) decided his greatest feat would be to just snap-away with his handy-dandy iPhone camera at images of trafficking children/youngsters at the supermarket in New England he'd visit for this special 'faerie research' symbolic of modernism. He took countless photos of children, wondering if these indeed might actually be 'faeries' posing as humans and delivering consumerism messaging about daily-life innocence or sustainability. New England was, after all, a region of great commercial traffic and environmental sanitations.

AMLAN SATAN: I think these 'faeries' cross over through a portal to become humans with messages about human-life IQ.

He started to then take more 'ideal photos' of individuals (humans!) he'd regard as most probable 'faeries' disguised as human shoppers at the iconic New England supermarket he now visited rather often. He'd buy fruits and t-shirts and cleaning-supplies and batteries and hardware and identify shoppers he was sure were faeries-in-disguise. He thought, in all humility, the people/shoppers he 'identified' as faeries were at least 'diplomats' of this special vitality politics (regarding traffic daylights).

AMLAN SATAN: My goodness, I'm sure now that some of the photos I've taken of 'key' shoppers are indeed faeries with IQ.

One day, while taking his photos, Amlan Satan was approached by a strange Frenchman who introduced himself as Ra's. This man whispered to him, "You seek the wisdom of the faerie in the streets/shops of New England, but perhaps what you really worry about is the quality of wrought sanity in this time of great traffic complexity, and I advise you to think more 'clearly' about the nature of life's simply designed nature...and abandon your iPhone-photo quest, good man!" Amlan didn't understand how/why this Frenchman (rather odd) 'Ra's' 'knew' what he'd been doing with his iPhone but only concluded this 'stranger' may've simply 'intuited' that his snapping-away at people for 'traffic-album' photos for personal home-album collections about supermarket life (not for commercial use certainly!) indicated Satan's 'strange' fascination with deriving magic from ordinary life albeit with doses of obsessiveness. Amlan never forgot this engagement with the mysterious Ra's and then began to wonder if Ra's himself was some kind of faerie!

AMLAN SATAN: I must not abandon my personal/private study, and I now have a faerie-photo I'm sure's a sign of America.

Years later, Amlan Satan got married to a beautiful Irish-Catholic woman named Iso O'Meara whom he met at the supermarket. They had a son (Damian O'Meara) and bought him a cool Inspector Gadget LEGO-toy car. He'd watch his son play with his LEGO-car and witness him (oddly) talk to the car as if it 'possessed' its own magical capitalism 'defense' spirit (since it was a traffic-protection vehicle guarding commercial activities in the American landscape). Amlan then had a revelation --- his wife Iso and his son Damian were faeries transformed into human beings to gift Amlan a life of more toy-like dreaming about the quality of modern dollars.

AMLAN SATAN: I've concluded my 'double-life' in America is one of wrought dreams/poetics about the quality of capitalism!
