Sister-Sorcery: Dawn

Narrated account of two separated twins (sisters) in complex Shannara who exhibit opposing 'forms' of daylight.

Two sisters, twins separated at birth, are of different consciousness, and they're part of a different fate in the mystical but dangerous land of Shannara. One is Elana, queen of democracy, belying her albeit rather outwardly provocative appearance/demeanor, and she wields an affable humor to complement her rather valiant sword directed to defend the helpless, in a land (Shannara) beset by wandering bands of ghouls and savages and minions of warlords. The other is Danica, a deadly woman of cunning and calculations and a woman who has chosen a darker path down the behavioral lines of bloody murder and power-pyramids, allying herself to the very-same warlords her twin-sister (Elana) hopes to outcast from the village-scattered land of Shannara. It's ironic that Elana/Danica are twin-sisters, separated at birth, raised by differing spirits. Elana was raised by faerie-spirits of the forests of Shannara, while Danica was reared by an evil sorceress named Male in her castle of banditry.

What Elana and Danica do have in common, in all honesty/humility, is their shared love of flowers and the sweet smell of successes in Shannara. However, they define the magic of flowery and the sweetness of success certainly differently. Elana contemplates success in terms of the honored valor of the meek, standing in hopeful positions and awaiting the heroics of her brave mercenary-knights guided to become honorable and empathetic towards their fates. Danica contemplates the pyramids of success in terms of the power-positions of utter delight and self-positioned glee. Danica is therefore more 'giddy' about the adventures of Shannara; Elana remains more humble and reserved and somewhat obviously more 'pensive' about the complexity of democracy and Shannara's yearning for justice! If a mighty swordsman traveled through Shannara and met both Elana and Danica, he might consider his interests in the values of idealization and self-improvement as he determines who's the 'fairer' sorceress of the sun.

I've been wandering around Shannara for some time now as the lone-journalist Cyrax, and I've been covering the sad tale of sectarian conflicts in Shannara, between bands of clans of similar but differing religious faiths/rituals vying for the stance of territorial positions and social expressions of greater confidence, but at the expense of each other in conditions of wealth and fortune disparities. This is the circumstance of the imagination-diffraction of Shannara, and it's one in which Elana practices her 'religion' of mercenary-heroics and in which her twin-sister Danica practices her 'governance' of the pining for booty and gold and laborers to build her monuments to the sun. Elana/Danica both equally consider me a 'wandering' poet/journalist, and I shall forever perhaps regard them as ironic twins of Shannara who reveal the strange 'lights' of this complex and adventurous land's utter declinations.
