==== The funky female American music band known as the Misfits had performed very successfully with their clever mix of steel-drum music and punk-rock tunes, a hybrid of island tune and Ramones entertainment, were now in South Jersey to enjoy a quiet Friday night meal at a very nice Italian eat-dive, a great restaurant which offered some very cool spaghetti-and-meat, potato-and-chicken tomato soup, and awesome cherry custard. The Misfits didn't want to be seen/photographed but rather simply wanted to enjoy a very idealized weekend-kickoff eating experience, since they're to perform at a Notre Dame concert on the following Saturday. ![]() The restaurant was quite nice, and the inside was quite nice, and the service was quite nice. The Misfits had of course shown up in their signature wild costumes/fashions, which the waitstaff and host found to be quite taking and requested if they'd be willing to be seated way in the back of the Italian eat-dive so as not to incur too much customer-crowd attention or 'tempt' customers to call their friends on their iPhones to have them flock-in for a Friday 'media-stir' which no one wanted. The Misfits ironically simply wanted to enjoy a simple Italian Friday meal at around 8pm and ordered a ton of Decoy red-wines. They got really drunk but were most unwound by the quality and flavor of the Italian cuisine dishes. None of them were Italian by heritage, and a couple, in fact, were Irish, but they found this South Jersey Italian restaurant the perfect getaway from their lives of stage-frenzy. ![]() WAITER: You ladies look hungry and lean this Friday eve. MISFITS: We're really thirsty and 'itching' for outstanding food from Italy, good man! WAITER: Cool; we've plenty of that, ladies; check out our online menu, ladies. MISFITS: Can't we just get paper-menu copies tonight; some of our iPhones aren't charged. WAITER: Alright; well, as you may see, the menu offers many of the signature dishes we advertise. MISFITS: Yeah, we've seen your ads on television in our Courtyard hotel-room in Voorhees. WAITER: Cool; well, I'd recommend the portobello-penne with vodka and/or the macaroni-beef soup. MISFITS: Yum, yum, yum --- sounds good with our Decoy red-wines, no? WAITER: Indeed; you ladies must be psyched for that Notre Dame concert...Saturday. MISFITS: Indeed, good man; well, I think we'll start with a groupie-shared giant bowl of spaghetti! WAITER: Cool; I'd recommend the very greasy-fried calamari too (as appetizer or some follow-up). MISFITS: Cool; we'd also like to check out those cherry-custards once we're phat and drunk. WAITER: Very fine; your patronage here is most welcome; we don't really get celebrities in our South Jersey. MISFITS: No, well, we definitely aim to revel in some Italy-noodle tomato twisties. WAITER: Nice! ![]() It was a high-spirited Friday night 'affair' for the Misfits at this iconic South Jersey Italian eat-dive. The staff made sure the 'celebrity-visit' wasn't perturbed by media-buzz or flocking crowds or loud noise. In fact, it turned out to be a rather romantics-like culinary experience, and the leader of the Misfits got drunk enough to lament about the departure of her Wall Street boyfriend which her band-girlfriends made her feel alright with, as they conversed fondly about their memories of having the more satisfying brand of high-school teachers who'd inspired them to become writers/musicians. The Italian restaurant would hang up their Friday visit-photo in their establishment, and the Misfits would never forget the 'gallant' waiter who attended them and helped them feel just a 'tad' bit saner in this magazine-distancing country we call the United States. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
