Elevator-Woman*A Story by Abishai100A portrait of a young Western/Algerian woman of 'elevation' proportions...and distance!
A random civilization poetic inspired loosely by The Muse (Albert Brooks). Enjoy,

==== Shia worked in an elevator at the Courtyard (New England) and greeted all the members/guests of the new area club tied to Friends of Sinn Fein, noting how they'd been (mostly) practicing/devout Catholics, not necessarily Irish, and preferred the traffic-life of political commentary in safe-and-sound United States, even in this post-9/11 era. Shia had been born in Algeria and read Eamon De Valera's work India and Ireland after converting to Catholicism after graduating from Dartmouth with a degree in literature (Irish literature) which she decided moved her to become an 'everyday' boring citizen of no particular social political ambitions. She became an elevator-girl at the Courtyard (New England), greeting the guests/patrons and was now entreating the various Friends of Sinn Fein guests trekking somewhere around Boston. ![]() Shia was not Irish obviously but now a good Catholic young woman who generally liked dating and casual-sex after greeting nice-looking Ivy-grads at pubs and restaurants after work. She had a rather robustly voluptuous and forward-looking sharp Mediterranean color/appearance and some told her she reminded them of Sabatini, that famous Argentine female tennis star who almost defeated titan Graf before the Seles era (for those who cared about women's tennis!). Shia worked as an elevator-girl and was sometimes told to wear special 'costumes' or uniforms for her work at the Courtyard. While greeting the now frequent guests who'd been members of Friends of Sinn Fein, she'd started probing them about their interests in Irish (Belfast) capitalism/politics and the worst division in the Western schism between the two dominant denominations in the world Christian faith! She asked them what they thought about 'Catholic-arts' and sometimes shared her own 'exotic' comic book arts featuring 'radical' women serving as civilization 'diplomats' of revolution or sensuality. ![]() Shia sometimes brought her special hand-string play-kits and showed off her remarkable gift at making amazing hand-string (yoyo!) choreographed lyrical crafted geometric constructs for entertainment/ballet value. She told them, these guests at the Courtyard who'd been now frequently members of Friends of Sinn Fein traveling somewhere in/around Boston, that her hand-string geometry 'act' was all about the symbolism behind civilization balance-acts and ballet. They started remarking to her that she reminded them of 'Wonder-Woman' or someone who 'truly' cared about the 'color' of human imagination which they appreciated given their 'deep/complex' political worry-work linked to sectarian violence and economics-frustration/angst in modern Belfast (United Kingdom). ![]() SHIA'S DIARY: I think after all this pensive thinking and hand-gestures and elevator-girl hotel hospitality work in New England, I'll complement my Catholic faith since college with a nice newfound fascination with a much more colored religion --- Eastern Hinduism. This religion offers some rather wondrously bright and richly-textured re-presentations of consciousness kaleidoscopes and the 'intrigue' (child-like) behind polytheism, transcendental superstitions, avatar music, and war poetry. I particularly think about Shiva, god of destruction, and his sometime 'mate' goddess Parvati, a nice 'pretty' messenger of nourishment. I think about how a Shiva/Parvati dualism in the mind/heart might inform my 'elevator-girl' experiences with these politically immersed 'Friends of Sinn Fein' and all their modern 'worldly-work(s)' with the colors of pluralism depression/death. ![]() Well, after some much soul-searching and intensive diary-writeup(s), our protagonist 'heroine' we refer to as the 'Elevator-Woman' (Shia), Ivy graduate, Courtyard employee (elevator-girl), and general Western civilization witness/commentator, had become something of a 'Wonder-Woman' of the social matrix, a real 'diplomat' of the randomness of human consciousness complexity and thought. You might wonder if you ever saw her at a local gymnasium or arcade, would you be engaging with a modern 'Barbie' of the civilization 'deformity' of 'wrought' distances? She just might be the 'avatar' for your curiosity about society's self-made Great Depressions (e.g., the Rape of Lucrece). ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
