Mortal Kombat: Faerie-Dr.

A Kombat-aficionado describes his 'immersion' in a cyber-franchise which may cast combat as 'faerie-visitation' Earth dramatics.

"
My grand upon on the universe of the fantastic Mortal Kombat franchise, inspired by the recent film adaptations starring Christopher Lambert!
DISCLAIMER: I've no 'formal/official' ties to the Mortal Kombat media/game franchise and present this 'civilization work' of fanfiction as simply/only a diorama of modernism demo (for dancehall-diaries).

The dark city was filled with traffic claustrophobia and an aura of capitalism ambition, which created a spiritual backlash demand for some 'cyber-catharsis' or outlet for physical/metaphysical exercise or gaming, or just something to 'transcend' this modern civilization of 'graphic' sophistication(s).

This miracle came in the form of Mortal Kombat, a highly-graphic and adventurous modern (late-20th Century) cyber-gaming franchise which was adapted into comics, cartoons, films, toys, tournaments, and costumes for fanfare. The game featured fantastic colorful warrior 'avatars' such as Raiden (master of lightning) and Goro (multi-limbed ogre-warlord) and Kitan (blade-fan wielding princess of fury/honor) and Sindel (icy queen/sorceress of combat) and Scorpion (spear-chain casting piercer of bloodsport). The insignia of the franchise was a glow-eyed dragon which represented the fire and drama of the gaming, a great departure from any other fighting video-game ever made.

The greatest cyber-fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise/games is Amlan Satan ('Storm-Shadow') who'd followed the original games MK1, MK2 (etc.) and his favorite (MKX) and became an 'avid-devotee' or diligent-admirer of the MK warrior-princess Kitana, posting cyber-blogs of himself as a Raiden/Ermac manifested 'Earth-realm' lover of Kitana and posing himself as a 'detective' or 'company-man' of the game's ultra-graphic 'vigilantism' like storyboards.

STORM-SHADOW: I'd had a dream in which Kitana/Ermac came through a fantastic/magic portal to deliver Earth-realm IQ.

Many parents/mothers took their kids to video-game stores/arcades/malls in which Mortal Kombat games were represented/presented/sold as trophies of the modern landscape, enticing youth to the graphic bloodsport of the martial-arts weaponized cyber-games/tourneys as symbols of violence-catharsis and 'alternatives' to war-movies and horror-comics.

STORM-SHADOW: We're using a special PlayStation interface to cast the warrior-avatars as Earth-visiting 'faeries' for peace.

The early MK (Mortal Kombat) games featured stripped down landscapes in which tightly-uniformed (basic-colored) warrior-avatars challenged each other to mortal fatalities, and they wielded terrific acrobatic stances and skills and methods for the defeat of adversaries in 'Outworld' tourneys and the ultimate victory of martial combat and confidence/valor!

STORM-SHADOW: We're using a 'faerie-medicine' approach to this socialized Kombat-presentation for peace-cyber forums.

FANZINE: The video-game tournaments of the new era have become a toast to the hallmarks of alternative entertainments.

As the MK (Mortal Kombat) series/franchise became more advanced and boasted more lucid combat scenarios and graphics, fans/aficionados and 'sages' like Storm-Shadow cast the media-outlet as a youth-targeted exercise in the fantasy-daydreams of cyber-escapism and fantasyland toy invention.

STORM-SHADOW: The 'art' generated by the Kombat-franchise reminds us how kung-fu cinema has evolved into youth-music.

'Youth-music' is why Storm-Shadow sincerely 'believes' that Kitana/Ermac have traversed a magic 'Earth-portal' to administer him a special dream-mission to cast the Mortal Kombat franchise as a faerie-message about the modern cyber-tech gaming value of socialized dialogue for youngsters surrounding peace and entertainment-outlet 'alternatives' to urban gang activity and violence/crime/terrorism.

STORM-SHADOW: There's a fantastic new Kombat-linked circus-team (theater) in Boston called Red Triangle Gang which is casting costumed Mortal Kombat stylized presentations of cyber-'theater' as an outgrowth or outshining of previous combat-fighting gaming series like Tekken and Street-Fighter.

The fantastic male warriors of Mortal Kombat include emperors, cyborgs, animal-humanoids, shape-shifting 'smoke-beings' (Smoke!) and Native-American sages of hellfire.

The female women-warriors of Mortal Kombat include princesses, upstarts, sorceresses, Egyptian-maidens, American guerrillas, and strange reptilian witches.

STORM-SHADOW: We'd seen street-thoroughfare of fans in costumes at conventions designating the 'avatars' as theatrical.

Storm-Shadow (Amlan Satan), still hopelessly in love with Kitana, believes the femme-fatale combat-scenarios/graphics of the Mortal Kombat (MK) series/franchise casts outstanding storyboards of the gender-intrigue surrounding cyber-era democracy dollar sales. This is capitalism in a very sporting fashion for those interested in dramatics.

Of course, if you're not into video-games or martial arts or cyber-tournaments, you might not understand why a 'faerie' (winged tiny humanoid being of the forests with messages of wisdom/warning) would want to cast themselves 'inside' the Mortal Kombat (MK) 'universe' as 'angels' or 'sirens' of the dangerousness of the applications of graphic violence or bloody murder. However, if you get into the idea of comics-oriented humanist storytelling, you'd appreciate Storm-Shadow's earnest 'belief' that these 'avatars' (Kitana/Raiden/Ermac/Goro) reveal a 'faerie-like' medicine regarding tech-era hypnosis.

RAIDEN: I don't fear the prospect/scale(s) of fighting a warrior-princess, especially one who's ready to decapitate, Kitana!
KITANA: I'm ready to fight any man and destroy his vanities, Lord Raiden...especially or even you!

Storm-Shadow keeps in his Vancouver and New England apartment(s) a special Raiden/Kitana action-figure dollset which he boasts as his trophies of evidence that he's obtained a 'special' faerie-like understanding of why these avatars of the Kombat-franchise remind us of the entertainment value of escapism storytelling providing outlet-alternatives to real-life violence/bloodsport.

STORM-SHADOW: I'm prouder of my Kitana/Kombat collection(s) than of my junior soccer-league trophies (Fury, Jersey).

FAN: I think there's a definite chance these other-worldly graphic warrior/avatars of Kombat are actual faeries of IQ.

INTERVIEW (Fanzine): Do you believe (honestly) these avatars of Kombat are somehow...faeries on Earth?
STORM-SHADOW (Amlan Satan): Indeed; they're the 'pixels' of dramatics; I'm in love with Kitana and admire Scorpion.

CRITIC: To think that these simple video-game graphic fighting 'characters' are more than indulgence ('faeries') may be evil!

STORM-SHADOW: There's nothing 'dark' about casting child-like idealism in violence-alternatives as a lifestyle aesthetic/IQ.

FANZINE: Ironically, Storm-Shadow (Amlan Satan) happens to be a terrific East-West cuisine-blending host/chef of Kombat-tourneys and may be likened to the 'Thomas Nast' of the cyber-era, with his special writing projects about the civilization impact/contours of globalism entertainment and hotel-like atmospheric(s)!

Storm-Shadow even collects thousands of MK trading-cards which cast/depict the warrior-avatars as 'faerie-angels' or messenger-diplomats of what makes the Kombat-franchise the new era version of Dungeons & Dragons.

STORM-SHADOW: I've got so many trading-cards it's no surprise Kitana fell in love with me as a 'conduit' of human-realm IQ!

What's Storm-Shadow's favorite/ideal Kombat trading-cards? It's those of SubZero (ice-warrior) and his 'true-love' angel Kitana (blade-fan wielding princess of fury/honor). He's taking these cards to a Chicago trade-show to present the modern idea that cyber-gaming can be likened to modern-era fairy-tale entertainments.

STORM-SHADOW: I met a woman who's a big a fan of Kitana (U-Chicago) as I am; I think she might be a Kitana 'twin' on Earth.

EZZY: I married Amlan Satan after meeting him at the Kombat-convention with my son (Damian); I have a secret for him.

Can 'faeries' truly invade/crossover into 'Earth-realm' from the Mortal Kombat (MK) 'universe' with this new-era message about the visiting 'angels' of violence-catharsis? Amlan Satan (Storm-Shadow) may somehow/someday 'believe' the woman he eventually married (Ezzy) whose son (Damian) is a huge Kombat-fan/aficionado, may actually be a 'faerie-Kitana' sent to Earth to bring him a special love-potion of divine/spiritual 'escape' from the dark city of capitalism claustrophobia we'd talked about in the introduction/prologue to this long story-presentation of Earth storytelling.

EZZY: Should I tell him I'm 'really' Kitana?
