Dioramic tale of an MIT academic's social-night of Mortal Kombat RPG-cards game synthesized scenario intrigue and what it represents for the modern dreamer!

"
An RPG-oriented game-night vignette about shared social experience in New England (among/between MIT peers), drawing from the inventive/graphic Mortal Kombat media/gaming franchise as a 'slate' for dragon-hearts.

I've lived in a nice apartment in the Boston (New England) area while working at MIT as a professor of computational linguistics. My name's Amlan Satan, and I'm a Catholic in the area and teach/write about the contours of English-Irish language arts/development and its impact on coexistence/culture-exchange, using specific grammar-structure trees to address the morphology of social behaviors emergent from communications formulations. MIT work is intriguing, and my apartment is nice, and I've got a bunch of friends/peers from MIT with whom I've formed a secret 'ritual' social-activity linked to the modernism graphics-immersive Mortal Kombat video-game series, a combat-game focusing on the aesthetics and designs of world-ornamented competition philosophy, perhaps (arguably) symbolic of modern civilization war-imaginations. Our MIT social Mortal Kombat 'game-night' in my New England apartment (Boston area) makes my non-academic life quite ingenious.

When I was younger, I was a fan of horror-comics and then dabbled in horror-comics short-story writing while studying linguistics and literature at Dartmouth (Ivy League). It was then that I developed a natural interest in the 'aesthetics' of behavior-wrought sociological nuances pertinent to my modern study of language-arts and my non-academic (Mortal Kombat) cards game-night involving the design of competitive social activity imagination. I've become a nerdist of social design!

Maybe it was the graphic candid 'starkness' of the Tales from the Crypt comics that I explored as a younger man and later college student that fostered mu current/future work or activity with social language-arts and the Mortal Kombat sociological competition design activity. Tales from the Crypt engendered in my a special 'Western' fascination with the 'dark language' of metaphysics-driven social folk-tale intrigue linked (arguably/perhaps) to the human interests in shared 'molded' consciousness.

The MIT Campus is quite a marvel in of itself, a reflection of the filtered intelligence/insight of its students with an 'uncanny' appreciation of the contours between architecture/structure and academics or social space. This is a place where students like to indulge in the intellectual fancy of derived forms of intelligence quotients, sociological mechanics, computing dance, and sci-tech/math (and sociology!) histories/storyboarding. It's a place where the students/faculty equally entreat the forms of design and engineering reflective of the Western civilization imagination about focused brain-acrobatics!

So, this story isn't about my language-arts academics-work or the MIT 'aura' or even my New England apartment but of the social ritual game-night at my apartment with my MIT peers/buds involving Mortal Kombat trading-cards utilized 'game-night' (every Friday night!). This social ritual involves the collections/presentations of Mortal Kombat (MK) trading-cards/RPG-cards, which you can find quite easily in MK media-outlets/stores, in various 'social scenarios' of capitalism symbolism or social setting synthetics. We MIT pals gather every Friday night at my apartment to design special MK-cards games involving the imagination of the 'personality-avatars' of the 'fantastic' cyber-warriors from the video-game itself, such as Raiden (master of lightning) and Kitana (blade-fan wielding warrior-princess of fury/honor), to create/synthesize special conversational/competitive/friendship/romance scenarios symbolic of the MK-universe of character-driven competitiveness-drawings.

SAMPLE GAME (Friday night at Satan's New England apartment)---

PLAYER 1 (MIT Professor): I've got a Kitana card and arguing she's competing with Mileena over some romance-potion.
PLAYER 2 (Me!): I've got a Mileena card, and I'm arguing she's insisting she 'invented' the potion.
PLAYER 2: Kitana takes the first-strike to insist she'll use the magic-potion to romance Raiden first.
PLAYER 2: Mileena argues since she's invented the potion, she may court Raiden first!

These sorts of casual but competition-imaginative MK-cards sociology-scenario 'mind-games' are great experiences for my MIT peers/pals in my New England apartment in what's become a 'Friday night' affair. Heck, I've even developed a romance-relationship with a female MIT professor that flowered because of these Friday night game-nights with MK-choreography. Sure, this is a 'game-night' for nerdist yuppies of the erudite MIT landscape in North America, but it's also a chance/way for us to entreat the rather 'humble' notion that modern social activity can be 'wrought' from the 'traffic-busy' matrix of arts-derived diadems of youthful drawings.

The biggest 'ritual-dish' derived from this Friday-night MIT-MK cards-game experience is the sharing and preparing of spirals mac-n-cheese dishes which have come to reflect/symbolize our newfound/shared love of 'inventive' social activity in this 'inventive' era of traffic-catharsis recreation. Maybe we'll get a timeshare in Massachusetts together as a special 'vent' for this MK-exercise among us MIT-aficionados.

APARTMENT CONCIERGE: We hear boisterous sounds of laughing MIT friends in Satan's apartment, all MK-cards night dance!

This is not rocket-science. It's simple media-based modern social recreation. It's based on derived forms of sociological imagination from a modern media in this new era of inventive social activity. It's simply using characterization flowery from the avatars of MK video-games to create social mindspace conditions/play-realities to entreat the simple imagery of shared human dance and personality. In some ways, it's a wholly original form of Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: The Gathering. It's simply modern and cute.

MIT CIRCLE: Hail to Mortal Kombat, for what it's offered us this Friday in cards-synthesized New England dreamcatchers.
