Immigrant: Dye(s)

A Story by Abishai100
"

Vignette of migration-dance, Cuban love(s), and of course, modern 'rebel' drywalls.

An immigration 'fable' conceptually inspired by Rebel Without a Cause. Enjoy,

In the sunny shores of 'troubled' Cuba (Latin America), Raul was in love with Esmerelda (Ezzy), but she'd been 'devoted' to her loyalist general-father Dezi, a close 'descendant' of the once proud Casto regime after the Revolution.

RAUL: I love Ezzy; I'm running away with her; we depart Cuba; I'm taking her to Miami, where we'll watch Rachael Ray (TV).

EZZY (Esmerelda): Love Raul; but my father's the Cuban official, and he won't let me just 'fly away'; I feel like a dark-girl.

The shadow of the post-Castro revolution era in Cuba has marked the street-IQ and 'spirit(s)' of Cuba (Latin America). Raul isn't blasphemously ashamed of his darling Ezzy who's devoted to her father General Dezi. In fact, he keeps a graffiti-artwork of Castro himself in his studio-apt. However, Raul's dream of 'flying' to Miami beckons a modernism daydream about discovered 'alternatives' to civilization drawings.

RAUL: We'll depart Cuba by telling your daddy (Dezi) that Miami holds a 'dollar-dream' of art-instruction employment for me!
EZZY: Sweet thing, I'm 'uncertain' of my father's view of Western/American society-IQ and if art-markets hold promise now.
RAUL: You can't think a man of your father's position is 'blind' to the street-magic of the Miami vision these days, Esmerelda!
EZZY: I love Cuba, Raul.
RAUL: If I leave Cuba and depart and head Miami (without you!), I'll only taste the memories of living colored art (not life).
EZZY: What're you saying...about this 'fear' of leaving me 'behind' in modern Cuba, Raul?
RAUL: I have this haunted memory of a 'dry-heat' Cuba with you walking around...as a distant doll, Ezzy.

DEZI (Father): Make certain my daughter this 'profession' Raul's chosen in Miami's paying-enough for a life of social dignity!
EZZY: I do believe father this 'job' Raul's procured about society-IQ in Miami/America will bring you no shame.
DEZI (Father): My responsibilities to the society rhetoric must extend beyond the 'shores' of simple media-headlines (Cuba).

RAUL: You made it!
EZZY: I knew you'd get to this damned Cuban airport and wait only until the 'last hour' until I decided to board with you, Raul.
RAUL: Let's take some 'final iPhone' shots of this 'damned' airport, Esmerelda.

ESMERELDA: Miami is gorgeous, my sweet Raul.
RAUL: I feel like a man here with you, Ezzy.
ESMERELDA: That's my vision all along, Raul.
RAUL: Have you written back home (to your father)?
ESMERELDA: I've sent him iPhone photos, Raul!

THE HERALD: A new immigrant couple arrives to move-in to their new Miami apt; a relation of General Dezi; American Dream?

Esmerelda spent her afternoons now watching Rachael Ray (TV), while her darling immigrant-beau Raul spent hours in the nearby art-studio using his special 'brand' of art-graffiti to create cyber-homeschooling projects for the Latino-community in Miami and created a wonderful 'media-niche' in this new Western/American world of consumerism-traffic driven ideation(s).

EZZY (Diary): I think my darling 'rebel' Raul was right; if I 'stayed-behind' (Cuba), I'd not witness this 'property' color of night.

ESMERELDA: This red leather-jacket is wonderful, Raul.
RAUL: It's time we married, Ezzy!
ESMERELDA: I feel like an American model.
RAUL: We've achieved a special 'migration' page in history, no?
ESMERELDA: I feel like a faerie.

RAUL (Diary): What's life in Cuba now...and what if Ezzy stayed in Cuba...would I still feel the 'aura' of Miami rich?
