WalMart-Faerie: Detector StyxA Story by Abishai100A diorama narration about 'faerie' imagination and consumerism stalemates invoking ideas about 'real' darkness.
An homage to consumerism-fables, inspired loosely by Photographing Fairies. Enjoy,
DISCLAIMER: I've no official ties to the WalMart company and present this work of consumerism and American life 'dramatics' as a simple picture of 'capitalism' direction. ----
==== I get to a special New England WalMart shopping center and I realize the soft glow of the consumerism-lights of the iconic capitalism-hub in Western civilization reveals a special traffic-light awareness of the mindfulness of commercial sanity in the United States. Yes folks, it's the greatness of WalMart. ![]() I walk inside and notice a very unusual looking woman with a towel on her head, and I ask her, "Do you shop here often, in the meats/fish section, beautiful lady?" and she's shocked at the candid inquiry, since she's not use to such direct questions, even when she's in awareness of her unusual get-up. That's WalMart serendipity, folks! ![]() You know what people who hate America hate about WalMart? It's so 'typically' capitalism-dioramic! It's a special 'sequel' to the KMart era, and we all know those 'funny' street-jokes about KMart. Well, WalMart is the grand successor to KMart, so all those anti-American images on Google you find about 'nasty' ISIS/Cobra terrorists are radicals who hate WalMart, right? That's why when you spot a rather 'eccentric' looking 'charming' man/woman inside a New England WalMart, the first thing you might think is, "Well, WalMart traffic is rather...typically...democratic!" ![]() So I continue walking around this funny WalMart (New England) and notice a charming looking American lady staring at a cup of ice-cream she's about to purchase, certainly excited to get home to indulge in the eve-luxury of capitalism! I don't disturb her in her obvious happiness, and I think to myself, "Perhaps I should find similar WalMart convenience-smiles." WalMart is so...sane. ![]() That's when I decide to whip out my wallet-collage photo/artwork sticker-sheet of 'faeries' (winged humanoids of the forest with messages of wisdom/warning!) and decide to start 'sharing' with the various consumers of WalMart (New England). I start 'fantasizing' that the WalMart shoppers I come across might find great delight in these images/stickers and go so far as to think to myself, "Maybe I'll share these stickers with a fascinated shopper...who's a 'faerie' in disguise!" ![]() I come across a rather attractive American woman who I decide must be a 'faerie' in disguise, since she's reading a very symbolic magazine from one of the reader's aisles in the iconic super-store/center. I show her the faerie-sticker sheet in my wallet and ask her (directly!), "Do you believe in faeries or happen to be one (in disguise!)?" and she looks very cynical and replies, "Well, I'd tell you, 'yes' but honestly feel that all this inquiry's related somehow to consumerism depression!" ![]() Yeah, more or less, WalMart ain't that special. In fact, it's the epicenter of 'sanity' for capitalists. It's just basic and normal. That's what made someone like me, a 'regular' patriot, want to share my faerie stickers! I then notice a policeman walk into the super-market and start engaging with a group of youths! I decide the 'real' magic of WalMart shopping is the symbolism behind the discovery of faerie-tales! ![]() CRITIC: You can't find 'faerie-magic' inside WalMart, simply because it's an epicenter of 'boring' consumerism! ![]() COP: Yeah, we get lots of calls in New England about skirmishes and didn't anticipate a WalMart call this evening; but sure. ![]() Well, consumerism takes many shapes/forms in the world today, and WalMart simply looks 'boring' and sane in comparison, so how would one seek-out 'true' magic in a 'basically mundane' supermarket in New England when comparing such commercial lifestyle activity (groceries/supplies) with the media-dominion of cinema/glamour? ![]() Well, I realized I might find this 'basic' human/social invisible 'magic' by taking snapshots of the various people on the streets of Boston and at fashion-shows and then compare the images to those of the 'boring' folk(s) at WalMart! In that method, I just might detect...a real faerie (winged humanoid)! ![]() FAERIES: We do exist, and we're currently securing the White House (Penn.-Ave.) from post-9/11 era terrorists for Americans! ![]() So, I buy my son (Damian) a nifty-looking GI Joe ('Storm-Shadow') action-figure from WalMart (New England) and decide the symbolic appearance of the 'fantasy-adventure' heroics/patriotics 'figurine'/avatar parallels a metaphysical fascination with extra-human greatness or magic (e.g., faerie!). I then ask my son, "You like Storm-Shadow, but you believe faeries are real, like Christian/Catholic angels (or demons)?" He replied, "Anything's possible dad, but WalMart is boring." ![]() FAERIES: We're real, and we exist in your midst (in New England!), but take care not to 'indulge' in place-setting dribble! ![]() ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
