This is the story of Amlan Satan, a man who'd gone blind after his participation in the Afghan-War after 9/11 which rendered him a man of depression when he got home to NJ/USA, where he started reading Braille-books privately and hired a special media-nurse from the US-gov't to tend to his needs for writing a story/novel of his own, titled The War Diary.

AMLAN SATAN (Notes): I don't mind being part of the War after 9/11, and I saw the World Trade Center fall apart on television (myself) and became somewhat 'unnerved' by the jarring horror of it all, and it all prompted me to become a 'great soldier' for the American force(s) in Afghanistan, and when I came home (blind) after a 'career' ending injury, despite winning a gold-medallion for my 'work' as a killing-sniper for the West, I decided to start writing a 'Braille-novel' (The War Diary) and took in my special gifted nurse from media/gov't relations (Isa), a beautiful woman (I'm certain!) who brings her son (Damian) to play charades (auditory) with me, a fun game, and this has all rendered me a 'brooding Shiva' (Hindu god of meditation) of the blindness consciousness, but Isa (my media-nurse!) has given me a newfound metaphysics/theosophy fascination with 'faeries' (tiny winged humanoids of the forest with messages of warning/wisdom)...so I have to ask (God), "Is my 'vision' a translation of 'personal' doctorate(s)?"

ISA: I bring him faerie-tale books (Braille) and nurse-notes I take (for media-gov't relations) and 'integrate' him into TV-land.

DAMIAN: Mom thinks you're an 'oaf' of self-imposed veterans-depression, Mr. Satan.

AMLAN SATAN (Me): I'm making you a 'character' in my novel, young man, The War Diary!

DAMIAN: Mom tells me you went to Dartmouth (before Afghanistan).

AMLAN SATAN (Me): Cog-sci major...Guinness minor!

DAMIAN: Do you resent all this thinking, sir?
AMLAN SATAN (Me): I don't regret meeting your mother, Damian, if that's what you ask.

DAMIAN: What's your (Braille) novel all about?
AMLAN SATAN (Me): Patience...and dancing!

ISA: Why'd you want to go to a drive-in summer movie, Amlan?
AMLAN SATAN (Me): Let's just say I want to forget about the land of political lights, darling.

ISA: Damian loves you!
AMLAN SATAN (Me): Yup.

THE WAR DIARY (Excerpt): If 'time' is a sign for privacy, then war is a hallway to Hell. I've been through Hell. I can't see. I was an excellent sniper-shot. I was an 'excellent' American (soldier!). Now, I live 'blind' and try to 'love' Isa and her beloved and charming smart son (Damian). This is my new life, and I spend my 'time' writing this memoir and account of the war and the post-war reflection(s). Maybe if 'time' is a sign of privacy, Isa's taught me why a 'belief' in faerie-creatures (tiny winged humanoids of the forests of Earth with messages of wisdom/warning) may 'parallel' my Catholic faith(s) in 'discovered' life-after-death. Why not?

DAMIAN: We're going to Target, Mr. Satan!

AMLAN SATAN (Me): You need to start calling me...Uncle AM.

DAMIAN: Alright, but Isa (mom) is real excited to see what you'll find 'nice' while shopping!
AMLAN SATAN (Me): Your mom is very nice, young man.

DAMIAN: We watch that cartoon Ben-10 together (Cartoon Network).

AMLAN SATAN (Me): You should consider becoming a Dalian-institute teacher (Asia)!

DAMIAN: Let's go to Target ('Uncle AM').

AMLAN SATAN (Me): Sounds like a vision of your mom!
