Snowy Somerville

A cool vignette about discovered North American 'patriotics' in the heart of a single-father (Mass.)!

The idyllic North American (New England) town of Somerville is where I spent an entire year. I worked as a comics-artist and sports-card market collector/trader and boasted a Boggs/Canseco/Jackson/Fleury collection as well as Leviathan, Arrow, and Batman comics.

I don't live alone. I have a daughter from my first marriage to a wealthy lawyer (Selina Kyle). My daughter ('Ezzy') means the world to me. I make cyber-graphics designs for her homeschooling-education while working on my comics/cards business in Somerville (I'm presenting the time-tale in flashback here!).

One of my Somerville laurels is/was the GI Joe comics series featuring 'iconic' post-9/11 era dazzle-bedazzled 'faerie-tales' of antiterrorism vigilance and mobilizations against 'Cobra' (vile leviathan of hellmouths). I'd become a 'patriot' of modernism dystopian storytelling, which ironically inspired some of my cyber-homeschooling projects with/for Ezzy (Somerville)!

That holiday-shopping season in snowy Mass., I'd become a freelance photo-'journalist' to take photos/snapshots of the landscape(s) of great Mass. I'd began to celebrate consumerism flowery and presented/'sang' to Ezzy the forms of traffic-IQ 'magic' for capitalism that would facilitate her great education in civilization!

All this 'meditation' on traffic that snowy Somerville ironically gave me a newfound sense of magic and wonder alongside Ezzy herself. I began to think about the 'myth' of angels/demons and faeries wandering around in the post-9/11 era of globalized capitalism as 'misty' messengers of money and wisdom! It's true. I know, it all sounded rather child-like, but I started thinking of the Romantics of intellectual history I learned about at Dartmouth (United States).

That's when it happened! I began to 'daydream' (perhaps even hallucinate!) that I was seeing 'fantastic' women of beautiful visage in the snowy state of Mass. These 'faeries' were suddenly everywhere, reminding me of the 'lights' of the holiday-shopping season that 'colored' the otherwise 'mundane' notion of the capitalism-IQ machine! I thought I saw people, real women, who'd been 'faeries' in our midst! I made faerie-arts online for Ezzy!

DIARY: Maybe when Ezzy grows up, she might appreciate my cyber-faerie art(s) and think inspired for capitalism-myth(s).

A snowflake is like a crystalline microscopic diamond! Diamonds are made from coal! There's so much 'commercial' magic on Planet Earth, and we 'oversight' these magical thoughts in this time of terrorism, blood-diamond piracy, and urban riots. This is the Great Tribulation.

DIARY: I bought Ezzy some 'cool' GI Joe comics-adapted 'action-figures' which will remind her of the 'faerie-tales' of America.

If Ezzy grows up and doesn't choose to adopt the arts/storytelling customs and imagination of her daddy (me!), I hope she'll at least think of what moved me to become more...discrete.
