Amlan Satan lived alone with his daughter ('Ezzy') from his first (failed) marriage to Catholic schoolteacher Shelbye O'Hara (New England) and was a blood-diamond analyst working-from-home with Interpol-office(s) relations while delighting in modern media-tech era culture social-media rituals of socialized activity (e.g., Facebook-IQ).

AMLAN SATAN: I work from home, and my blood-diamond(s) works has moved me to find some recreation/spiritual activity.

INTERPOL: Blood-diamond corruption today threatens the world-gem exchange(s) and makes terrorism woe!

Satan has decided to take Ezzy to the Harvard-Square park on Saturdays to play chess in the park with other random travelers/philosophers/players and doing so has moved him to think about the quality of forming new friendships/relationships since his first (failed) marriage. While playing chess, Satan notices a beautiful media-figurine walk by and take stock of the chess-games at the 'Square' and admires Amlan's style of swift offense-with-subtle-defense maneuver tactical decision-making!

This media-figurine reminds Satan of a reading of classical-mythology he came across while at Dartmouth and begins to think about finding/connecting with a modern 'Athena' (goddess of wisdom) to become his 2nd-wife and more importantly a 'welcomed' mother-figure for his daughter (Ezzy). Amlan began to think about the nature of magazine-culture/media-imagination and what it might foster in Ezzy's psyche-development(s) regarding social norms/customs in mainstream cinema-culture in the United States.

He showcased some of his extra-nice chess skills to this visiting/admiring media-figurine whom he tells he's nicknamed 'Athena' (which earns him a street-smile!) and explains he's on a magical 'Mother-Quest' to find the 'right' maternal home/domestic presence for his darling-daughter ('Ezzy).

WOMAN: You've assumed I'm admiring something 'unique' to your chess-play.
AMLAN: Well, yes, I 'thought' you'd be admiring my signature of competitiveness here!
WOMAN: Perhaps I was 'merely' admiring the fact that a nice-looking single-father is playing chess.
AMLAN: Harvard-Square does tend to draw in some 'thinkers' of the world, eh?
WOMAN: Your daughter ('Ezzy') is quite adorable.
AMLAN: Why, thanks!
WOMAN: You're on this 'Mother-Quest' for a maternal-influence in your daughter's life?
AMLAN: Are you a media-woman of established romantic commitments already, fine lady of magazines?
WOMAN: Perhaps!
AMLAN: Well, I might entreat you to a nice hot bowl of New England clam-chowder in that bistro down the street.
WOMAN: That sounds intriguing, Mr. Satan.
AMLAN: I can reveal to you my 'secret' double-life as a 'James Bond' intelligence-analyst of blood-diamond(s).
WOMAN: Sounds neat, Amlan.
AMLAN: You might learn you like Ezzy more than you already imagined.
WOMAN: Perhaps!
AMLAN: That sounds like a nice 'proposition' for potential discovery of a social distance meditation.
WOMAN: We 'shall' meditate on this 'romantic' proposition then, Mr. Satan.
AMLAN: You never know...you might procure a 'cool' magazine editorial from this 'street' encounter, right?

Amlan got married again, but not to this 'fine lady of magazines' he met at the chess-area of Harvard-Square with his darling-daughter ('Ezzy'). This woman, another Catholic schoolteacher (Stana Shaw), did indeed become a nice maternal presence in Ezzy's life as 'Mr. Satan' began to teach Ezzy about the splendors of homeschooling and water-color paint(s). He and Stana would have a fine marriage and he'd resolve he'd succeeded in his magic 'Mother-Quest' which began at Harvard-Square, while playing chess and encountering a 'fine lady of magazines' who'd already stirred his 'fancy' about domestic-life distance(s) in the United States. That's a rather 'cool' American Dream.
