Time DialerA Story by Abishai100A tale of time-travel in narrative casting the fun imaginations of displaced Earth-diary.
A simple and sweet vignette about sci-fi fun for summer, inspired by The Time Machine (Guy Pearce), which I think you'll find quite drawn,
----
==== I've been studying time-travel and feel fascinated by the modern-machinery of Facebook and social-media fun and the plethora of social activity created by the millions of mobile-phones connecting the modern Earth. ![]() I derived the designs for a special 'time-machine' which I think will enable me to travel into the futureworld and see what our Blue Planet looks like in the distant future, and I'm honestly wondering if the inhabitants of Earth will resemble aliens or something, and the device I've constructed is like a time-ripple bubble-hopping ship that enables the rider-driver to literally jump across the waves of space-time. ![]() I feel aghast now that I've arrived in a future Earth which is inhabited by a strange chessmaster minion warlock named Jasper who seems intent to celebrate the conscious splendor of isolationism, though I must admit, given his rather frosty demeanor, his choice of behavior(s) is rather well-suited for those who might have to endure his rather calculating company in darkness! ![]() However, this adventure is not without merit, for in this same future-Earth, I've encountered a strange beauty named Desdemona, a woman on the Outback of Australia who's chosen to adorn herself like an Old Earth 'gypsy' and tells me of the timeless wonder of fortune-telling and astrology, and I've fallen in love with this faerie-creature I confess. ![]() The future Earth is rugged and red-colored, and the ruler is a frosty monarch of darkness and mystery (Jasper), and my wanderings facilitated by time-travel will no doubt facilitate my feelings of planetary fun when I (successfully!) return to my own era/dimension and discover a peaceful planet with 'comparable' agendas for environmental sustainability! ![]() I used the time-device to travel even more into the future and encountered a 'digital' freak-being named Video-Man who's got this uncanny power to sift and shift through electric circuit layerings of this sunlight-lessened future-Earth and serve himself as an energy-drinking creature-man of great immortal presence, and I think this downright 'alien' is wanting me to imagine that this fate of the planet, with him in it, is some kind of signpost of intelligence gone without check (or humanity!). ![]() When I traveled back to find my fair lady Desdemona, I found instead a cute Koala bear of the Aussie-future who could speak with me in whispers and warned me not to go 'hunting' for alien-IQ and instead find settlement in what makes my own time/dimension rather affably (or ecologically!) sustainable. Maybe he's right. ![]() DIARY: I've resolved to dismantle my time-device once I return to Boston (New England) in my time and continue MIT-study! ![]() When I got home, I thought of Desdemona, but I also thought of the 'instant-magic' of my own time-era, and I visited Chinatown, all bright in neon and traffic, and I realized that all the conclusions of any given place-time offer their own senses of simple sovereignty. ![]() DESDEMONA: He left me this beautiful gear-working gem-wristwatch which will remind me of the 'time' shared (Outback!). ![]() Back in New England, I'm preparing to celebrate a festive Halloweentime gathering of great erudite North American (Eastern) scholars who'll devise blueprints for a time-machine themed sci-fi horror movie for Spielberg, and I just might serve as a 'pirate' consultant with my own (secret) notes on the 'design(s)' of time itself. ![]() DESDEMONA: He won't return Outback ever/forever, but I'll think of the 'time' we contemplated our shared non-alien IQ. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
