I was staying at the iconic Wingate by Dulles (Airport) in Virginia en-route to my Tarom flight to Transylvania during the incredible/trying Russo-Ukrainian War in 2023.

Dulles Airport is quite nice. It's got all the amenity-look/feel of a real Western building or institution. You can idle here for hours, which is where you might find a worldly pilot like me, Amlan Satan (of Tarom airlines), indulging in the panavision or window-views into the skies and Earth consciousness, something a Martian-alien would find rather...designed!

The fleet of Tarom airlines is quite the modern-marvel and echo of global commerce/capitalism and travel experience for investors and tourists. This is what you'd take for a DC-Transylvania flight to entreat your travel-fantasy about vampire-mythology field-vacation journals.

I've been a Tarom pilot since graduating from Dartmouth and then entering flight-school, though originally I wanted to be some kind of Euro-racer (Autobahn perhaps). I enjoy the 'machinery' of mobility and speed-experience and transit, which is why I'd post photos of my piloting consciousness for Facebook-IQ.

The Russo-Ukrainian War rages on in this 2023 time on Earth, and images on news covering the impact of Crimean annexation by Russia and Ukraine's proportional responses and Western support for censuring Russian action, and in the background, we're thinking at Dulles/Tarom that this 'spices' flight-journals for modern Earth-transit amidst tales of airport-diaries.

PILOT ANNOUNCEMENT (Later): Greetings passengers; thanks for flying Tarom; we're at high-elevation; good skies to Romania.

The inside of Dulles had me noticing the stewardesses and passengers getting ready for their scheduled travel that day as I made my way from my Wingate suite after finishing my reading of Treasure Island (the book is as good as the movie, no?).

TAROM STEWARDESS: Our seating's all prepared for you today, ladies/gentlemen, and we anticipate cool floating/dining.

We had the Dulles-Tarom fortune of being 'chaperoned' by a cool ABC-media figure talking about the new-era feeling of morning-airport 'fitness' and the general hospitality these days behind the Western transit-experience, even in this tried post-9/11 era of 'fantastic' storytelling.

While en-route to Transylvania, we witnessed a floating Russian missile soar by, and I called the Dulles-Romania airport bridge personnel to communicate this 'dark intrigue' and was informed there was potentially some Ukraine-espionage 'passenger' of secrecy; required me to ask one of my gorgeous flight-attendants to be something of a 'field-doctor' and ensure there'd be nothing 'announced' during the flight, which was otherwise fine, since I steered our plane away from the darting space-object, though I secretly wished it was a 'friendly' UFO instead. That's modern news for you.
