A Martian visited Earth and challenged GI Joe infiltrations-operationalist Storm-Shadow to a dastardly game of chess, seeing if he'd be able to draw a stalemate-condition (a tie or a no-win decision) so he'd accept a non-invasion policy of Earth-civilization. Storm-Shadow had no choice but to accept the proposal.

STORM-SHADOW: You know I'm not just a 'James Bond' man but also a Salk-scientist with military-tech science ethics props.

ALIEN: I don't care; defend your Earth with a stalemate against me, and I'll retreat into the ocean-abyss as an exile (forever).
