The Doctor and his ally Gabriel decided to go through the phone-booth portal to go to the Martian dimension where the robot-species of Daleks were invading and creating a strange underground cyber-communications spy-dominion to threaten Earth in the post-9/11 era. The Doctor/Gabriel decided to take their nifty digital-board chess-set to the journey-adventure to challenge the Daleks intellectually, hoping to draw a stalemate-condition (a tie or draw or no-win equivalence decision!) to draw a conceded peace-treaty so as to avoid a potentially deadly Earth-civilization Internet supervirus implant scenario!

DALEKS: We 'doubt' the good Doctor/Gabriel can defy our portal-espionage dominion schema to complicate Earth-IQ (chess).

GABRIEL: Do you believe the Daleks would concede an arrayed organic chess-game for some piece-maneuver stylization?
DOCTOR: I've trained myself for a specific scenario regarding a rook-bishop double-line maneuver to outmatch any Queen-IQ!

GABRIEL: Maybe we'll make Facebook-IQ, Doctor.

DOCTOR: Perhaps...

DALEKS: Who signified this sudden 'stalemate-conditions' chess challenge for a Earth-IQ negotiation profit, Doctor/Gabriel?

When they got to the Martian dimension underworld through the phone-booth portal device, they encountered a special Earth-American woman-scientist (hostage!) named Dr. Pierce who knew about the use of A.I.-program corruption and Net-superviruses which would erode levels of Pentagon (United States) transmissions --- and only the good Doctor/Gabriel could or would use chess-stalemate challenges to negotiate an Earth-salvation as well as a hostage-rescue to restore Ms. Pierce to her Salk-laboratory on Earth (for Facebook-IQ!).

When the heroes got there, however, to the Daleks-lair on Mars, they discovered they'd been marshaled by the insidious faraway-dimensions adversarial insect-dragon alien 'being' traveler called the Xenomorph who agreed to the chess-stalemate conditions-negotiations proposal of the good Doctor/Gabriel but that he himself would play the Doctor in chess on his digital board-game set and see if Earth-IQ warranted a 'pardon' for continued/peaceful sci-fi entertainment and net-toy developments in the arts!

XENOMORPH: How'd you win, Doctor?
DOCTOR: Well, Xenomorph...this isn't a 'win' but a peace-stalemate condition, right?
XENOMORPH: Damn; I merely wanted a win-scenario, not stalemate, damn!

DOCTOR: So, I'll return to Earth with Gabriel/Pierce and restore the lovely lady in our Sturbridge-estate.

XENOMORPH: Well; I suppose the proposal features are met here (for now).

MS. PIERCE: So, my two daring heroes of Martian-chess (Dalek-terror!), perhaps we'll draw a comics-lore about you two!
DOCTOR/GABRIEL: Well, lovely lady damsel of Mars --- we do both (equally!) love the Cyril-Squire English knight-comics IQ.

MR. PIERCE: Alright (lovely)!
