Lunar-Alien: A Chess DeedA Story by Abishai100Diplomacy-vision Sulaco crew of Apollo-19 engage with a mysterious 'alien' on the moon and derive a 'chess' dowry.
A 'brighter' sci-fi 'sequel' to the themes from Apollo 18. Enjoy,

==== The crew of the NASA-Weyland shuttle Sulaco was headed to the lunar surface for the Apollo-19 mission in the summer of 2023, the first moon-trip since the Apollo-18 mission of the previous millennium since the moon 'program' was completely abandoned and left for street-gossip mostly (surrounding the 'strange' reports of Apollo-18 and mysterious 'alien-creature' detection on the lunar surface). ![]() The crew of Apollo-19 would be Amlan Satan and Marcus Raki, two highly-skilled soldier-astronauts of NASA-Weyland who'd be on this diplomatic media-mission for the message that outer-space was not being abandoned since its high-mark during the space-race against the USSR and would generate 'cool' Facebook-IQ advertisements. ![]() Captain of the Sulaco would be Mary Vickers who'd be on a special diplomacy-complementation agenda while staying on the Sulaco to 'guard' the ship by herself while Amlan/Marcus explored the moon and searched for signs of cool evidence and moon-rocks while recording their entire trek for a potential 'Hollywood-venture' involving renewed documentary/cinema interest in outer-space storyboarding. ![]() AMLAN: I get the funny feeling there's still something on this lunar-surface as we've been exploring it, pal. MARCUS: I get the same feeling, buddy; and I recount those 'eerie' media-rumor 'cult-videos' of Apollo-18 on the Internet. AMLAN: I saw those...reports of the abandoned final-mission astronauts (unreported mission) encountering 'alien' creatures! MARCUS: Wonder if the moon trips were abandoned because of undisclosed alien-warnings posed to the Americans then? AMLAN: Possible/conceivable, pal; let's just keep exploring this surface and record for media; and get the hell back home. ![]() They had a 'reason' to worry or feel eerie about this offbeat venture to return to the lunar-surface, for during this fateful mission (Apollo-19), the first moon-trip for Americans/humans since the end of the Cold War and the retirement of all space-race ventures/initiatives, Amlan/Marcus greeted a very strange-looking man-sized insect-dragon like alien 'being' which crawled out of a dug hole in the ground of the moon and told them it could be called a 'Xenomorph' alien and invited them to his/its underground 'lair' for a chess-match. Amlan/Marcus were horrified but didn't know how to react/respond, with their recording-units turned off temporarily, and decided at this crossroads they'd have little option but to follow the alien down the underground lair for this bizarre chess-proposal. ![]() ALIEN: Do you gentlemen/Americans of this 'new era' know of what happened to those 'gents of Apollo-18? AMLAN/MARCUS: That's an unreported (secretive) mission of some sort, and there's strange net-rumors of 'creature' contact! ALIEN: Yeah...those spider-creatures you may've noted on the net-rumors back on Earth were planted by men, friends. AMLAN/MARCUS: What...why? ALIEN: Well, let's just say I'd wanted to offer a special 'gift' warning about the 'vanity' of outer-space travel/distance! AMLAN/MARCUS: Why'd you greet us and invite us to chess-play now on this moon-trip then, Xenomorph? ALIEN: I'm proposing a stalemate-chess conditions challenge; if we draw, I won't invade your Earth with my atom-bombs. AMLAN/MARCUS: What...why? ALIEN: Let's just say I've been 'spying' quietly on your world for eons, and I'm scheming an 'intellectual' agenda now! AMLAN/MARCUS: So...if we draw a stalemate in chess against you...you won't invade/terrorize/subjugate with warfare? ALIEN: Precisely right, gentlemen/Americans; so I 'doubt' you've little choice now but to 'accept' this tiny dare then. AMLAN/MARCUS: You're right about that...well, we're both quite/rather 'fond' of chess-play and trained during astro-camp! ALIEN: Very cool...I shall create (now) a queen-knight combo offense maneuver-dance to make side-array striking vision. AMLAN/MARCUS: Alright...let's suppose we counter that...with a 'steady' (here!) rook-bishop double-line balance diagonal. ALIEN: Damn; that's a rather 'cool' posturing...I dare say your 'stalemate' condition has been met (here!) then, 'gents. AMLAN/MARCUS: Amazing; this is the resolution then --- you refrain from 'striking' Earth due to this diplomacy-trophy, eh? ALIEN: That's right; I will instead (now) go to your Earth and reside (secretly) in the ocean-abyss as an isolationist-exile (ha). AMLAN/MARCUS: Why'd you go this 'nasty' distance just to use chess-stalemate to 'erect' a diplomacy-exile (secret) request? ALIEN: Chess is a game of intelligence vanities/strategy; a stalemate is simply a 'balance' proof of IQ-agreement(s). AMLAN/MARCUS: We suppose this 'stalemate'-diplomacy exile-requisition has achieved a 'cool' universal diagonal. ALIEN: Excellence. ![]() When Amlan/Marcus and Captain Vickers returned to Earth safely/sanely, they kept their secret while continuing some pre-retirement works with NASA-Weyland, and Amlan/Marcus became baseball-card store merchants (DC) and decided to write a science-fiction novel called American Exile Stalemate while cheering the general human-civilization diagrams of commercial vanities that would reflect 'true' Earth-realm dance. ![]() ALIEN: With me in secret isolationist-exile in the Earth-ocean abyss (now!), I 'doubt' Sulaco-crew are ignoring sci-fi fables! ![]() The lessons learned from Apollo-19 concern the ventures of outer-space creativity, the wrought human greatness from the uncertainty of space-travel, the micro-miracle of chess-stalemate achieved exile-diplomacy of nonviolence/security for Earth-dwellers, and the overall 'enchantment' of inter-species contact of eventual health reminding us all of the 'darkness' of space...and the lightness of Earth's 'fantastic' discourse. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
