Earth was going through challenging conditions since the commerce-landscape trauma of 9/11, when the World Trade Center (NYC) was destroyed by terrorists using hijacked passenger airplanes.

However, a greater tribulation began in the year 2020, right on the midheels of the Coronavirus quarantine experience, when the world was forced inside for work/play and had to use media/Internet to conduct all affairs on our complex Blue Planet (Earth!). This tribulation came in the form of an alien invasion, a special Martian species of intelligent invisibility-cloaked insect-dragon like 'beings' (male/female) with lasers and acidic/explosive saliva and a relentless will to subjugate mankind while humans were 'trapped' inside for all media-work linked functional operations facilitating civilization!

The captain of the alien race was a mysterious monarch-dragon named Endymion who claimed his Martian species had visited/haunted humanity since the 20th Century and as far back as Ancient Egypt, leaving mysterious/cryptic 'signs' as to their unforgiving intentions as sport-hunting oppressors of Earth. Endymion now wanted to find the perfect Earth-prince, someone who'd challenge him well-enough to draw a stalemate-condition(s) chess-match. He found one such prince in a cyber-blogger and Algerian-American princely-inheritor of fortunes named Amlan Satan ('Storm-Shadow') who'd been creating post-9/11 era democracy-defense stories/ideations and in fact was a 'secret' chess-master. Endymion wanted to challenge 'Storm-Shadow' (Amlan Satan) and suggested he 'train' for the online identity-masking avatar-signified chess-match on Facebook by watching replays of the iconic 1989 US Open men's (tennis) match between Pat Cash and Ivan Lendl, since Endymion played a chess-style machine-like and relentless (like Lendl!), while 'Storm-Shadow' (Pat Cash) employed/favored a more libertine/liberal and experimental offense-rotating style (like Cash!).

ENDYMION: Your quarantine-access to the Cash-Lendl tennis-matchup (YouTube) will prep you for our cyber-chess challenge.

STORM-SHADOW: You've guessed 'wisely' I'm a prince, and like yourself care about governance-IQ, but I fear this is vanity!

Nevertheless, despite these doubts about the wisdom of such a 'contest' online with chess, something 'Storm-Shadow' (Amlan Satan) considered secret/private/sacred to him, the wise Earth-prince recognized the importance of being able to 'defy' Endymion and the 2020 alien-invasion with this special 'secret' chess-challenge and trained himself to feel/play much more 'professionally' as he anticipated a relentless challenge from the invader-alien. Storm-Shadow had to put-aside his more child-like notions of cyber-work(s) being 'liberally' vigilantism-oriented and even playful/ideological. He'd have to put-aside his daydream-ideations of Facebook-IQ, arguably.

ENDYMION: You see, prince, I move my strong queen-knight combos against you with 'furious' precise humor(s)!

STORM-SHADOW: Sure...however, I'm using a rook-bishop double-line balancing 'act' to express 'patriotism' for Earth-armies.

ENDYMION: Damn.

ESQUIRE (Fanzine): So, you managed to achieve a cyber-stalemate condition against the sharp-willed alien-invader, hero?
STORM-SHADOW: It was a moment I'd never forget...I knew the stalemate was humility but enough to secure the sovereignty peace-treaty and 'force' the aliens to accept a permanent Earth-ocean deep abyss 'residency' status/permission as isolationist-exiles with no future 'agenda' to make contact with or attack humans above-ground...all thanks for online-chess (ha).

As Storm-Shadow became a famous hero, more and more 'army-characters' during the defiance-stand against the alien-invasion on Earth would surface as 'keynote' players in the subduing of the sharp alien insect-dragon 'race' (ruled by the chess-master Endymion) would be highlighted as restoration-heroes in the quest to defend the imagination of humanity and its special 'love' of futuristic stories/toys.

AMLAN SATAN ('Storm-Shadow'): One of my key allies in our 'crusade' was a video-game princess who espoused cyber-defiance of the alien-invasion agenda/message of destruction of human 'concepts' of pure democratization.
