Cold-War-Chess: A Stalemate DivisionA Story by Abishai100A diorama about political-IQ and Martian-chess stalemate condition(s) casting new images of Earth's special drawers.
A politics-yarn about chess-symbolism inspired by Children of the Revolution (Judy Davis). Enjoy,

==== The Cold War was a true standoff between arguably the two greatest world-superpowers in Earth-history, worth any 'brand' of retelling (really). It included the space-travel war and military development intrigue/conspiracies and diplomacy dilemmas for an entire encyclopedia section. It also included the key chess-match between Bobby Fischer (USA) and Boris Spassky (USSR). Chess is a strategy piece-position movement(s) board-game involving arrays of offense-defense choreography balance-acts with varied motion options and potentially may lead to a stalemate (tie/draw/no-win decision!). Chess, like the Cold War, captures all the human-IQ of mobilized decision-making stances...and disequilibrium. ![]() Amlan Satan ('Storm-Shadow') is a blood-diamond operationalist with Interpol-office(s) relations in modern Eastern Europe, working to maintain commerce bridges in Europe and the Americas threatened by piracy-activity. He's also an excellent chess-player who plays casually on Facebook using various aliases and was spied on by a Martian hiding on Earth's moon, in an underground base-station since the 1990s. He's been watching Satan ('Storm-Shadow') develop into the 'James Bond' he's become and the chess-aficionado that keeps him a 'secret' master of strategy. ![]() ALIEN: I wonder if Storm-Shadow appreciates the philosophical-IQ behind stalemate-condition(s) chessplay and treaty-IQ. STORM-SHADOW (Amlan Satan): I love a private game of chess and the stance(s) on diplomacy it might erect for civilization. ![]() Storm-Shadow was in Eastern Europe perusing some new diamonds-ads for magazines spanning the continent and stretching into sales in North America. He looked at various imagery regarding 'dolls' and models of American/Russian culture in ad-friendly photogenic poses worthy of capitalism-IQ. He was weighting market-activity against underground/street ideations of gem-purity for modern magazine pages. ![]() ALIEN: The Fischer-Spassky chess-play reflected between the two world-powers revealed why stalemate is a mental exercise! AMLAN SATAN: A stalemate condition between the Cold War powers of yesteryear certainly indicates chess as vehicular-IQ. ![]() ALIEN: What if we were to play chess against each other, and you pretend I'm a computer-mind (e.g., Deep-Blue). AMLAN SATAN: I ascertain from your 'mock' Facebook-chess alias ('Martian') that you like science-fiction ideations. ALIEN: Well, at least you might entertain the notion(s) that stalemate-condition(s) in chessplay between us will still inspire! AMLAN SATAN: Sure...as long as we both understand your intent to present yourself as a 'Martian' is a mental-parody note. ALIEN: Alright; you don't know if I'm an Earthling/Martian, but you do know what we're both thinking is diplomacy-IQ. AMLAN SATAN: Sure...even if you're an Earthling and no Martian, a stalemate between us casts ideas about diplomacy-charts. ALIEN: I may as well be a super-computer mind (e.g., Deep-Blue) stirring your ideas about political stasis/dynamics, eh? AMLAN SATAN: I agree; this would be a 'game' representative of the contours/intrigue of strategy-based treaty-imaginations! ![]() Well, Storm-Shadow (Amlan Satan) used a swift rook-bishop double-line offense-balance to counter/tip the alien's incisive queen-knight advance(s) and drew a stalemate-condition triumphantly and with humility/honor and claimed to the alien online, "Even if you're no Martian...we've both learned something about how stalemate-chess affords us 'interesting' images of negotiated stasis in times of decision-making vulnerability (e.g., nuclear weapons society chat; magazine articles on ethics)." ![]() ALIEN: That wise prince Storm-Shadow (Amlan Satan) hits the notes on stalemate-chess symbolism about politics-doughnuts. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
