Argentine-Herald: Dyers

Argentine-Herald: Dyers

A Story by Abishai100
"

A portrait of Buenos Aires crime-lore, vigilante-justice, strange tides of the new ages, and a 'triumph' of the diarist.

"
An homage to Latin-American 'struggles' in the new era, inspired very loosely by Before Night Falls. Thanks so much for reading,

In Buenos Aires, the high-ranked women's national field-hockey team prepared to accentuate its skill/celebrity in anticipation of the rivalry-matchup with #1 Netherlands, an ironic 'parallel' to the comparable rivalry (Argentina-Netherlands) in men's national soccer in this World Cup year (2022).

SPORTS_WRITER: The Argentines are 'poised' to offer the Dutch a special 'spice' for field-hockey as the 'stellar' #2 challenge!

However, in this new millennium, the iconic Buenos Aires Herald (newspaper) didn't see iconic news-tales and headlines in this World Cup year but rather a strange series of decapitations (bloody murder!) rumored to be 'tied' in some fashion to the Argentina women's national field-hockey team, and no one wanted to dismiss this 'loss' in Buenos Aires of more 'shiny' news-headlines in this year of sports-buzz.

Well, the culprits behind the crimes in Argentina's capital are masked 'strangers' who're copycatting themselves after a new noir-horror crime film series about masked 'mystery-folk' prowling as settlement terrorizers with a new-age 'vision' of darkness. These 'Strangers' of Buenos Aires weren't targeting the Argentine female athletes themselves but rather all investors, executives, secretaries, and even PR-men wed to the sports-organization, hoping to create a 'Helter-Skelter' consciousness worth a movie-script (darkness).

HERALD: Yet another decapitation 'tied' to the Argentine women (field-hockey); this time a big-time executive linked to IBM.

HERALD: Glory be to the shiny, as three mystery-people (masked 'vigilantes') storm Buenos Aires and will cage the Strangers!

HERALD: How'd you pull-off this micro-miracle in Argentina?
VIGILANTES: We'd been stunningly motivated by the World Cup (sports) year.
HERALD: Yes, the men's soccer team and the women's field-hockey team both offer Argentine shine!
VIGILANTES: Indeed, and the women's field-hockey team bring great tourism-spirits for Buenos Aires writers.
HERALD: It's the age of media and sports-broadcast and cable-TV, and Buenos Aires wants Argentine gold, right?
VIGILANTES: That's absolutely precision; and these 'Strangers' sought to create a Helter-Skelter sea-drowning.
HERALD: One of the Strangers turned out to be some kind of an alien.
VIGILANTES: Yes; the male figure, in scarecrow-like masks, was a Belgian ex-convict who fled Brussels (blood-diamonds).
HERALD: All this 'alien' talk about bloody murder and crime-heart(s) brings weird notes of intrigue for sports-media.
VIGILANTES: Well...we ensured that such 'talk' was linked to duty-free cheers to security-force protecting sports-stadiums.
HERALD: In this post-9/11 era of great terrorism woe, no one wants another Pearl Harbor or something (North Korea, etc.).
VIGILANTES: That's somewhat true; Argentines have always trumpeted the human value of sports-socialization (secured).
HERALD: Cool; so, there's a movie-offer in the pipe-lines of blue-and-white Buenos Aires gossip, eh?
VIGILANTES: Sure; some script about immigration paranoia and women's sports in South America; we've been approached.
HERALD: Will you be part of the 'media' machine-wheels now then, heroes of former mystery-masked ID/lore?
VIGILANTES: We're still 'isolationist' advocates of home-media education/entertainment (Facebook-chess) and fight crime!
HERALD: Thanks...and happy 'toy' chess!
