The 2015 season for the iconic Kansas City Royals approached, and I'd been a TV-fan of the team from afar (UK) and cherished by 2015 team-set (Topps) as well as the awesome Ben Zobrist card (Topps). For those in the unknowing, Zobrist was instrumental in the kickoff 1st-game 5-4 close scoreline win for the Royals in the World Series against New York's Mets which proved to be a pivotal momentum-building 'event' for any cool Royals-fan (or athlete!). 

Why should I care about Royals-baseball and the diamond-shine of these magnificent Royals cards I've collected over the years, including the Jackson-rookie from that 'legend' Topps (Traded) '86 set, which cost me much spiritual joy when I had to find ways to secure/protect its condition over the years. I consider myself a 'nerdist' of baseball mementos in the sports-broadcast era in Western civilization which had produced so many 'celebrities' and made Facebook-IQ friendly 'chess-chats' about the socialized value of sportsmanship in the modern world. That's me.

WIFE: Baseball/baseball-cards are to men what fashion/romance is to women --- a way to use entertainment to soothe Hell!

Well, after 9/11, the world and all Americans became suddenly 'on-edge' about the traffic securities of this new age of commerce driven transit and travel and exchange, after the World Trade Center was just destroyed with hijacked passenger airplanes! People needed real 'uplift' after this 'event' which in some ways was more 'domestically jarring' (arguably) than even Pearl Harbor (wow).

WIFE: Me thinks to entreat my beau of Royals-fanfare momentousness following this 'NY-Triumph' with butter-chicken outside.

The point of this story was that my Zobrist-Topps (Royals!) cards 'soared' in spiritual/romance-value after the iconic victory in the 2015 World Series, capping a wondrous American sports season which saw the symbolic team end 1st in their division and do well in stats and team spirits and achieve their first title in 30 years. It was a 30th-anniversary...diamond! Who doesn't appreciate the 'human-DNA' of baseball, right?
