Reds-Diamond: American Branch!A Story by Abishai100Fan-diorama of what made the 1990 Reds (baseball!) season so outstanding and illuminating DNA
An homage to baseball-love, inspired by the iconic American film Mr. Destiny (Michael Caine). Enjoy,
DISCLAIMER: I've no 'formal' ties to the sports-organization referenced in this personal/private work of sports-fanfiction and cast this only as a presentation of 'American' distance(s). ----
==== The 1990 Reds season made Ohio quite a smash, as the fantastic team of American baseball which included fantastic batsmen/pitchers shocked the heavy-favorite Oakland team in the World Series and captured a stunning cap to a season worth the retelling. Follow along. ![]() I've been living in Detroit, Chicago, San Diego, and Haddonfield, areas of symbolic American importance, but Cincinnati baseball remained something of a rare gem to me, since collecting Reds-cards (Upper-Deck), especially the 1990 team-set, reminded me why that season for baseball was pretty nice. Sure, it wasn't the 1985/2015 Kansas City Royals season(s)/titles, but it certainly had all the 'trimmings' of sports-diary. ![]() My name's Amlan Satan, and I'm a home-baseball fan, and I love collecting cards/video-games, and the 1990 Reds-season was capped that special Upper-Deck team-set which reminds me why I like posting comments on Facebook for sportsmanship excellence! ![]() Watching the Reds season that year and the photos of the title with the athletes holding the trophy in their hands and wearing their signature victory-gear was something any fan of baseball could consider a magic-show. The sweep of the Oakland team shocked just about the majority of the American population. ![]() DIARY: Baseball unwinds the soul, to remind you why summertime comfort(s) are hallmarks of American beauty. ![]() Sports is excellence and confidence, and baseball-marketing is pretty American magic, and the cheerleaders who show up to make/add glitter may remind you why Western civilization makes capitalism a 'lens' for competition-IQ. ![]() I challenged an Oakland A's fan to Facebook-chess and drew a stalemate, and he claimed he was a Martian, and I claimed what made me uniquely human was my magical love of the Reds baseball-cards (Upper-Deck), trophies/totems of the realism behind intelligence...and diary. ![]() WIFE: Why do you collect baseball-cards, even as an adult, darling? ME: I suppose these 'diamonds' remind you why companies like Topps/Upper-Deck inflate the mind/spirit...for distance(s)! ![]() My wife got me this amazing red-LP player (vintage), and though it reminds me of Ford, I think it reminds me of Pete Rose (ha). ![]() The point of this fan-diorama is rather simple/quaint --- it's 'natural' to love baseball, and it's quite obvious if you're a 'daisy' American why you'd hype that unusual 1990s Reds-season, which had generated 'excellence' in baseball-cards albums (at least for me!).
