An Martian engaged with an eccentric Earth-monarch in the time of feudal manors and castles and knights, earnestly hoping to create some conscious mental intrigue regarding the complex paradox of chess-play. This Martian, Endymion (name), hoped to engage the eccentric monarch, Hyperion, regarding the self-paradoxical consciousness features of the strategy piece-position movement based board-game of chess, offering him a special 'treatise' on the complexity of self-directed strategic decision-making and suggesting to him why chess-play revealed a special 'strangeness' about the visual appearance of intentional decision-making.

ENDYMION (Alien): Imagine a game (against yourself) in which you simply mirrored every move with the opponent-side.
HYPERION (Earth-king): So, I'm supposed to imagine a self-played game in which I simply 'mirror' my move with the opponent?
ENDYMION: That's correct; make a movie (for your side), and then you 'mirror' that exact move by the opposite side.
HYPERION: Well...that seems there's a limited number of moves by the 'mirror/mock' opponent who simply copies my moves!
ENDYMION: That's correct; you make a limited number of moves on your side; and your opponent makes copycat moves.
HYPERION: What's the point/revelation of such a limited-moves image of 'copycat' chess-play?
ENDYMION: Well, you see that the limited-number (moves) reveals that chess-play is a sort of self-directed 'mirror' image.
HYPERION: Yes, I suppose the limited-number (moves) reveals why I'm 'imagining' a mirror-image of copycat responses.
ENDYMION: This 'copycat-image' of limited moves suggests that you yourself are the self-directed/willful mind on the board!
HYPERION: Yes, the limited-number (moves) of self-directed play, with copycat moves by the other-side, reveals a dead-end.
ENDYMION: Doesn't that suggest to you that the multiplicity of 'other-minds' (in intentional competition) reveals preference?
HYPERION: I suppose self-directed 'mirror' chess-play models do reveal a sort of 'bias' or self-perspective declaration!
ENDYMION: Doesn't that suggest to you a sort of alienation or private-bias in competitive consciousness?
HYPERION: This 'self-willed' bias in competition-IQ also reveals 'engagement' with an imagination of a differing mind!
ENDYMION: A 'differing' mind revealed in 'copycat-chessplay' models suggests there's an 'isolationist' bias for intelligence, no?
HYPERION: Yes, but the 'existence' of other-minds in chess-play competition imagination also reveals decision-making privacy!
ENDYMION: What's so special about 'privacy' in the domain of intelligence?
HYPERION: You argue for the 'rationality' of Earth-invasion by intelligence/will, but 'privacy' displays the 'reality' of direction.

ENDYMION: I don't understand...

HYPERION: If an 'alien' species invades another species against the other species' will, the 'reality' is one of distance, no?

ENDYMION: So?
HYPERION: This chess-play 'copycat' imagination suggests there's a 'distinct' sovereignty in the 'activity' of private distance!

What Hyperion, the clever Earth-king, managed to retort/defend against the invader-alien/Martian (Endymion) in this 'copycat' chess-play model/imagination was that the 'private' visualized nature/quality of individual strategic decision-making, as revealing of the 'otherness' of the self in contrast to the perceptual visualization of the 'differing' other-mind, was the 'absolute distance' of intentionality when constructing models of the 'strangeness' of encounters with a 'foreign' will that indicated a 'foreign' bias. In other words, while the Martian Endymion sought to use copycat-chessplay as an 'argument' for subjugation, the Earth-king Hyperion, used copycat-chessplay to argue for the sovereignty/bias of liberty-space rights to private perspectives on species-design(s).

ENDYMION: You've successfully argued for the ideation(s) of chess-play design as reflective of private-will in sovereignty.

HYPERION: Perhaps you'll accept a 'diplomacy' compact for Earth-private isolationist-exile (in the ocean-abyss) as a citizen?
ENDYMION: Perhaps your species will consider the 'value(s)' of self-directed humility in the future design(s) of ambition?

HYPERION: Perhaps we've both learned something...about the 'design(s)' of civilization/sovereignty dreams!

Thus Endymion the Martian consented to the Earth-isolationist diplomacy residency self-exile and Hyperion the Earth-king kept the engagement-chess 'secret' of intelligence-modeled sovereignty/bias democracy to himself! What would the future of our fair Blue Planet reveal about the 'chess' of distance (itself)?
