Archaeopteryx: Boston Descent

Archaeopteryx: Boston Descent

A Story by Abishai100

Narrated 'claim' of a Jurassic-era bird-creature sighting in modern-day Boston (Park) casting 'strange-ideations' of real darkness.

A treatise on time-scale 'hallucination'-IQ, inspired very loosely by the miniseries The Langoliers (Stephen King). Thanks so much for reading,

I'd been studying the special fossil knowledge regarding the mysterious dinosaur/Jurassic-era bird creature called Archaeopteryx and making posts/comments on social-media for my Facebook-chess opponents.

I was working alongside some of the excellent staff and faculty of the archaeology wing of MIT (New England), since I'd been living and traveling to Boston on-and-off while working in North America in various sociology matters and creating cyber-presentations on the Net and finding interesting intelligence-evolution models for social-media commentary for my Facebook-chess friends/adversaries!

The Archaeopteryx bird is quite nice, and it's a very unusual Jurassic-Era flying creature and its offbeat/eschewed shape and morphology suggested to many modern scholars that flightpaths and adaptations from that early-Earth period were re-presentations of a more 'flexibly' volatile life-condition, and I wondered what kinds of birds in the modern era of Earth, and in New England (e.g., Boston) were somehow 'memory-spirit' of that fabled if strange organic flying thing of that Earth-time.

Suddenly, things changed for the serious for me, Amlan Satan, sociologist and social-media advocate/blogger. I'd been jogging in Boston Park in the dawn-hours one Saturday when I thought I ran by what seemed to be a very very unusual creature, a flying thing, that really really resembled the fossil shape/structures of that magical Archaeopteryx Jurassic creature! I didn't know what to do/think but immediately knew that I'd become a living/Earth 'witness' of some kind of 'specter' or at least 'apparition' of what was certainly an Earth-derivative of an evolutionary mystery in Boston Park that Saturday during my jogging-hour. Wow.

I decided to try to take a photo of the strange Archaeopteryx-resembling flying thing in Boston Park and ran home to get my iPhone/camera but didn't find any trace of it when I got back to the Park that Saturday. For about 3 months, every Saturday since that eventful Saturday dawn, I'd been trying to spot the creature once-more with no luck whatsoever. I decided to then take a 'basic' Boston skyline photo, wondering to myself, "Aliens and cryptic creatures and strange evolution tides, even to a 'normal' Boston-Catholic like myself all seem the stuff of personalized lore for social-media utilities these days!"

Two years later, I became a part-time assistant coach of a Boston private-school boys' soccer team, the Catholic-Fury ('CF') and used my 'chess-acumen' to derive special offense-defense balances diagrams for what would become a terrific season of youth-soccer in New England. I'd forgotten all about that Archaeopteryx pseudo-'sighting' that one eventful Saturday dawn in Boston Park (ha).

Then, while jogging once more some time later, with my new girlfriend (Shelbye O'Hara), a new assistant-prof at MIT, I saw the Archaeopteryx-bird again! Once-more, it resembled the same Jurassic-creature, and my girlfriend screamed out loud. I tried to take a snapshot with her iPhone in her pocket but it flew away too fast for me to document (ha). What Shelbye/I will never forget (now) is the 'breadth' of Earth-IQ/imagination regarding evolution's timeless mystery and the 'sightings' of environmental distances we might even 'dream' we experience just because we're defining humans.
