Amlan Satan completed his journey, his earned vacation in Europe and was about to hop back onto his flight back to Boston, not suspecting what lay in store for him at 20,000 feet above Earth-ground. He wandered through the airport and unwound his spirit and read his favorite magazine, Consumer Reports.

DIARY: This was a fantastic vacation in Europe, and I shall remember the colors/folks for social-media.

He really did have a nice time. In fact, this was the first vacation he'd taken from Interpol-relations work since he joined the team for blood-diamond evaluations and told himself he'd never forget the time of culture-exposure and the music-notes of the heart!

He boarded his flight to Boston (Logan) and started to take off his shoes when the flight-attendant (Sandy) walked by to offer him a beverages/drinks menu, and Dr. Satan appreciated the lack of crowds inside the airplane, which was a terrific boon that day for him. He wasn't thinking of noise (ha).

SATAN: I thinks I'll get me-self a lovely glass of some liquor, to feel like I'm adjusted into this experience now.

The 'adjustment-bureau' was not what was in store for Satan, as Amlan began to relax and stare out his window-seat into the day-sky and appreciated the lovely imagination it offered at 20,000 feet. That's when things went completely insane. He thought he witnessed the 'specter' of a strange 'being' sticking to the wing of the plane but semi-invisibly, so only he was able to see the creature-humanoid! It was fuzzy and somewhat monkey-like but with an eerie face and it seemed to be waving at him. When he told the flight-attendant to look out his window, it vanished, but when she left his side, it reappeared! He didn't know what to make of this 'ghastly' encounter as a sane Catholic-man, and he decided he'd write a novel about what he 'thought' he was witnessing right outside his plane-window (wow).

DIARY: I shall keep this 'dark-secret' in a mental-spirits 'gold-briefcase' until I write about it in a taut-novel!

At first, of course, Satan didn't even believe himself and was convinced it was the 'drink' on the flight at 20,000 feet that 'produced' the apparition-specter creature-humanoid...until when he got home and heard on the strange headline on TV: "Bizarre humanoid evolutionary-deviant found dead and floating in the Atlantic, a 'fuzzy' monkey-creature with a very strange-looking complexion!" Scientists had no choice but to conclude it was some kind of deviant creature that lived underwater but surfaced as a corpse after some kind of fatal stroke (darkness)!

DIARY: I'd decided to visit the Boston cemetery for a 'deep-intimation' about the nature of immortality now.

Amlan won the Pulitzer for his searing terror-portrait novel about hallucinating evolutionary deviance at 20,000 feet, which was timely, given the 'sub-range' science-buzz the discovered corpse of the 'creature' was discovered by a fisherman off the coast of the Atlantic. Satan's novel/story, High Art, would be considered a post-traumatic view of the 'quality' of mental distances in an Earth-imagination 'full' of dreams...and pure darkness.
