Sierras {Endymion}

Aldrich Killian embarks on his post-graduate 'mad-science' career first with a Sierras-camping journal but draws an encounter for darkness.

A vignette about cannibalism-consciousness I've been working on, inspired very-loosely by the 'cool' modern film Ravenous (Guy Pearce) and featuring a snapshot of the antihero Aldrich Killian (Marvel Comics) in a pre-career diary/encounter with a Martian in the cold Sierras.

Aldrich Killian graduated from Dartmouth (New England) and began his journal for ideations of stalemate-chess drawn computing-IQ/intelligence for applications of macro-governance mad-sciences.

DIARY: I'd consider myself a burgeoning modern science-man of chess-stalemate algorithm driven ambition-IQ.

To the Sierra in the winter-time, Aldrich took his copy of a searing book about Stalemate-chess, and he'd read it at night right before sleep and then some more before his bean-cooking in the day when he woke, before he trekked around to meditate on chess, government, intelligence, and the 'human' race itself.

DIARY: The diagrams of parallel-symmetry/variance in design/stalemate-chess draw my interests in computing!

Sitting alone in the Sierras that winter, cooking beans in the day before his readings/meditations/trek in those Western mountains of North America after graduating with-honors from the Ivy-League (United States), Aldrich Killian pondered about the quality of modern civilization ambitions and temperance and perhaps intimated how these ideations would formulate his future concepts of brain-sciences and ingestion consciousness, the features of ambition enhancements (wow).

ENDYMION (Martin): Greetings, Killian; I'm a spying/invisible Martian observing your 'study' in these Sierras.

ALDRICH: No one's made contact with you yet, Endymion?
ENDYMION: Indeed, no and perhaps we might 'talk' some stalemate-chess for your civilization sovereignty-IQ!

ALDRICH: That sounds cool; I suppose I'd fashion diagrams of competition-leverage for brain-governance climbs.

ENDYMION: Excellence; it seems to me this stalemate-condition of strategy-chessplay requires ambition-IQ only.

ALDRICH: I'm a musketeer of ambition-ideations, Endymion, but stalemate does imply a 'flavor' of isolation.

ENDYMION: Indeed; but the parity does offer a certain 'spice' of personalized greed or self-willed alienation, no?

ALDRICH: I suppose that's rather...accurate...but I'd want to consider 'real' applications of multi-mind compacts.

ENDYMION: Sure, sure; even cannibals may find intrigue with stalemate, no, Aldrich?
ALDRICH: I admit this encounter in these brooding Sierras, Endymion, has drawn (in me) a fantasy for power!

ENDYMION: That's cool, Killian; keep our encounter a secret; I shall depart from human-presence for philosophy.

ALDRICH: Excellence; perhaps I shall think on this pre-venture encounter as a prologue to my own mad-science!

ENDYMION: Excellence; perhaps it shall inspire some 'cool' sci-fi media for your future company, eh (ha)?

Aldrich Killian would indeed go onto great raw ambitions concerning the mad-sciences. He'd never disclose this 'dark-secret' of this Sierras-encounter with the spying/invisible Martian (Endymion) but the secret revelation would inform his understandings of the nature of free-will, intelligence-quotient(s), and of course...depression.
