Amlan Satan was working in the city of Arles (Europe) against blood-diamond operators after being trained through an Interpol-relation in British Columbia (North America) and happened to be praying in a cathedral after taking up temp-residence and meeting/greeting a beautiful housekeeper whom he'd fallen for and sought an 'escape' from a life of intelligence-dangers.

DIARY: I could retire with her (Sandy) and teach her to play chess; maybe rook-chess or stalemate-chess; anything; FaceTime.

SANDY: Amlan is a very gentlemanly stranger and I've no idea what he does, but he types a lot and then I found his diamonds!

AMLAN: I'd like to teach you about the peace-IQ behind stalemate-chess, and maybe its 'Cold-War' symbolism (media)!

SANDY: Sounds interesting, Mr. Satan; I suppose I'd understand some of these rook-knight parallel-lines of 'equal' distance.

AMLAN: Doesn't it all look like a table of dreams?

SANDY: Sure.

INTERPOL: Blood-diamond corruption today threatens the world-gem exchange and makes terrorism woe.

Mr. Satan (Amlan) was now more 'confident' than ever that what he sought more than anything was a life of love and peace, and perhaps Sandy, his newfound 'angel' who'd turn him onto FaceTime, was the answer to that horrid question, "Is the modern world only private for nightmares and not FaceTime?"

SANDY: Why'd you bring me to this stained-glass art display, Mr. Satan?
AMLAN: I'd like you to tell me what you think of the Cold-War and the Fischer-Spassky chess-rivalry between America/Russia.

SANDY: I've heard about if (of course!), but honestly, all this stained-glass art reminds me of simpler beauty (religion).

AMLAN: That's what I appreciate about your company, Sandy --- you've got the 'eye' for displacement.

Amlan/Sandy got married and he left his life of blood-diamond darkness and moved to Zurich with her where he wrote comics-art fanfiction tales about the hero-vigilante Hornet tackling rogues all over the modern Earth (Belfast, Brussels, Boston, Beijing). He'd teach Sandy about the 'magic' of stalemate-chess, hoping their future son/child would someday become an artist or musician or perhaps...a chess-doctor (ha).
