World Series ThanksgivingA Story by Abishai100Fan-diorama of the iconic 1990 World Series which cast social-media 'chess' ideations of sportsmanship-dating.
A nod to baseball, media, and that 'shocking' 1990 Series (A's-Reds). Thanks for reading,

==== Let me 'present' the fable of the 1990 World Series, in which the underdog Cincinnati Reds were cast against a dominant Oakland A's in what many considered a 'strange' event in media-broadcast era sports (baseball). Now, this 4-0 sweep by the underdog Reds resurrected a hallmark sports-franchise in the United States after a scandal-ridden age with the trouble-journals surrounding iconic athlete Pete Rose (wow). ![]() My name's Amlan Satan, and I've been a baseball-cards collector and sports/baseball TV-fan and cyber-chess aficionado, hyping that glorious 4-0 sweep by the iconic Reds in that 1990 World Series, in what many sports-fans in the West consider a 'social-media worthy' journal for ideations of sportsmanship-photos! ![]() I'll tell you 'dark' secret --- I (actually) own a special Canseco-rookie card. Even though that 'magical' underdog Series [1990] redeemed a very down-franchise (Cincinnati!), the Canseco-rookie card is considered, by most baseball-fans/aficionados, to be a sports-media/market treasure. Well, owning the Canseco-card didn't alter my view(s) on what made the Reds triumph over the offensive-powerhouse A's simply a 'diadem' of sports-fanfare diary (yes). ![]() Well, the Reds certainly toasted much talent that 1990 season, and there's many hallmark-worthy talents since that Series-sweep concluded that would/could be hoisted as 'legends' (including Sabo, Larkin, Duncan, and Davis). However, the As' featured a very potent starting lineup with a leadoff batter-sequence that simply made defenses/fielders feel like they're grassy ants! The Reds had much to prove...and defy (ha). ![]() HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: We honestly anticipated a strange offense-leadup with that Canseco-led batter-sequence that year. ![]() Shockingly, the Reds swept the A's and proved to be a worthy champion after their close but defining win in Game 2 of that 1990 World Series, and they made a newborn fan out of me, despite the fact I'd never lived in Ohio and was honestly a follower of more California (USA) sports-squads (e.g., Raiders). ![]() "Baseball-card(s)-fanfare/spirits makes for 'excellence' in records/tapes for the ideations of media-age draw" (Anonymous). ![]() Maybe if the A's went into that Series with 'cooler' heads or less arrogant minds, they might've anticipated that 'shocking' underdog-performance by those 'fantastic' ambitious Reds of Cincinnati. Nevertheless, what they simply did was show-up...and offer a showcase of sportsmanship that cast many social-media fans of sports-commentary (like me) a 'legion' for the net-era of Western/American dailies (hmm). ![]() I drew this special consumerism/media 'avatar' ("Evil-Elf") to cast my special interest(s) in the 'joys' of capitalism-culture and the special humor(s) tied to sportsmanship-humilities. This captured my fascination with baseball, the 1990 Series, the Reds-Series team-cards set (ha), and the 'wonders' of Western/American dialogue. ![]() "Baseball is like the 'chess' of the populations...it promotes imagery for everyday diagrams" (Anonymous). ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
