Arles - Ronin

Storm-Shadow (Amlan Satan), a blood-diamond infiltrations-operationalist of Interpol-relation, was in Arles (France) after being recruited in the underground for a special mission to rescue a 'damsel' from the clutches of a Russian baron-investor (Yuri) who'd plotted/threatened to murder his own ice-skating mistress on live-TV to create a media-message to his rivals, prompting all sorts of social-media commentary about the nature of modern Earth crime-storytelling.

STORM-SHADOW: I've been doing this for 10 years now, mercenary-IQ; want to retire with cyber-chess (ha); Arles is last-stop.

He was recruited alongside two other world-agents/mercenaries (Stana and Erik) by a mysterious 'professor' named Erlich who wished to find the right-stuff to meander/invade Arles (France) to create a 'GI-Joe' aura for the rescue of the ice-skating damsel (Kitana), and the city was lit at sunset, and the trio (Amlan/Stana/Erik) practiced weaving in cars/bicycles/bikes.

STANA: I need this money (badly), and let's say my former 'employer' from Belfast was less than idealized/ideal for photo(s).

ERIK: This dude 'Storm-Shadow' looks crazy, and I wonder if he's some kind of rogue-individual; I wish I was just on Facebook.

ERLICH ('Professor'): You're to invade the ice-skating demo-event for Arles-TV and 'dupe' Yuri and grab Kitana (with the Ruby).

The trio of mercenaries in France (Arles) were nicknamed the 'Ronin' by the Professor, a term canonizing the legendary samurai-warriors of ancient Eastern kingdoms who were left isolated after master-betrayal and forced to wander as paid soldiers and ultimately choosing death-honor over compromise, and the Professor reminded his 'Arles-Ronin' (force) that this post-9/11 era Euro-mission would feel underground/mercenary but would offer a special 'magic' for patriotism --- if they so chose to embrace such a message (privately!).

STORM-SHADOW: I got a special banque-check-note with insurance loosies from a Yuri-businessman/goon for the distraction!

STANA: I'll pose as a visiting circus-company 'artist' from Transylvania with toy-guns which are obviously real/loaded, OK.

ERIK: Calling Amlan/Stana --- I got Kitana in my arms; we've subbed in a dummy-lookalike on the ice; human-IQ; get Yuri!

All was going beautifully and the Ronin of the Professor did their mission without hitch and grabbed the underground (stolen!) Ruby from Baron Yuri and rescued Kitana and returned her to Erlich, but in the meanwhile, a rogue ex-IRA madman named Seamus had escaped from a Belfast-prison, trailed Stana of the Ronin (force), and sought to break-into Yuri's mansion for more of bis blood-diamonds (Sierra Leone) for some 'extra'-fund(s) media/photo(s) (for himself perhaps).

SEAMUS: Who'd think such an Arles-light would procure this off-chance media-art(s) for our good rogues of the Foreign chess?

It's true that diamond-traffic and underground rogue-terrorism financing was corrupting Euro-roads and prompting new ideations between Sinn Fein and Parliament (United Kingdom) regarding the 'troubles' of sectarian economics in Western civilization, outside Israel-Palestine, in this year of the Qatar World Cup, the first-ever Muslim-nation hosted sportsmanship/diplomacy media event...good for Parliament, bad for Seamus (wow).

STORM-SHADOW: Give the blood-diamonds Seamus; they don't belong to the Foreign Belfast unit you've assembled roughly.

SEAMUS: My goodness, the Professor's found a dove from the American intelligence (Interpol?) for Euro-investigation(s), eh?

STORM-SHADOW: Don't play a chess-game with me, Seamus; I'll stalemate you back to pre-Republic media, see?

SEAMUS: Damn.

The Ronin of Arles chased Seamus in a highway road-chase outside Arles which would become a media-legend of Europe in the post-9/11 age. Amlan/Stana/Erik were in two separate cars, V8-pumped Audis (navy-blue), after Seamus in his stolen truck filled with acid-guns and diamonds from Sierra Leone, which was all devastating for commerce-media in Arles.

SEAMUS: Damn; seems 'Storm-Shadow' has cornered my reversion-truck on the highway with choreographed parallels (hmm)!

PROFESSOR: Congrats, Ronin of Arles, for this splendid mission/sideshow complement(s); you're a 9/11 story for Old Earth.

AMLAN: We're off to Belfast for bed-and-breakfast then, darling Irish lady?
STANA: Not all Irish-folk are maniacs, you know, Storm-Shadow.

AMLAN: You still don't see things my way (like Erik), no?

STANA: I'm not convinced you're not some kind of ex-American intelligence, still 'floating' for real work (hmm).

AMLAN: Seamus scarred us all, Stana; let's put some money into our Belfast account (for a life of peace in Omagh).

STANA: Alright, love.

Amlan/Stana married and settled down in the countryside of Northern Ireland where they lived off their retirement-fund(s). Meanwhile, Amlan began writing his novel European Energon, which would win him the Pulitzer. Stana managed their shared account, which Erlich would've boasted.

AMLAN: I got our son (Damian) an 'incredible' Reds-Series (trade-cards) set from British Columbia, darling wife.

STANA: Very nice, darling; maybe these 'treasures' will make him a more civics-agent minded human being on Earth (yes).

DAMIAN: Nah, I'd rather have that cool new sci-fi chess-set (Alien-Predator) and challenge my Facebook-buddies, dad.

PROFESSOR: This Earth is a landscape of Hell; the treasures are hidden/rough; we need more stalemate-chess; and Ronin.
