HawaiiA Story by Abishai100Narrated portrait of a scientist/traveler who reawakens his mind and finds a 'truer' sense of direction in Oahu (Earth).
A travel-fable inspired by the environment/atmospherics and journey/evangelical-themes in the epic film Hawaii. Enjoy,

==== I traveled to the great US-state of Hawaii (Oahu) in the summer after doing some pretty serious work writing about robots and capitalism, concept psychoanalytic-literature, really. I began unwinding right-away with some cool social-media activity (e.g., Facebook-chess). ![]() When I got to Hawaii, I decided immediately to invest personally/privately in some Catholic meditation and peace activity, so that I might visit the Christian church on the gorgeous Oahu-island and think about some nice cyber-media posts about private-travel and religious thinking on modern Earth, perhaps also to visit the Catholic Hawaiian high-school to enjoy a summer exhibition game of the girls' soccer team (Fury). ![]() I tried my hand at surfing, after taking some beginner courses by the local surfer-teacher/tourism center in Oahu, and I discovered what was most easy about the activity was the balancing of body-and-mind on the moving waters and the control of the body for physique-displacement. It was a cool ride, but I must admit, I found snowboarding much...quieter (ha). ![]() Inside my very nice Courtyard (hotel) room, I found that my experience for private readings and online surfing/blogging regarding Oahu-offtime offered the right 'ideations' for personal/human amenity. When you're in Hawaii, I think what you really think about is the absorption of the 'atmospherics' and the great island-view which gives you a truer sense of almost-religious warmth! ![]() When I got to the Christian church, I thought about all my serious/maddening work back in the mainland United States, and how the Christian readings of the handy Bible inside the Oahu Christian church reminded me what made me 'feel' like a sensitive human/person, and why this entire trip to Hawaii would signpost my own 'idea' of a scholarship. ![]() Things changed even more for me when I visited the Oahu Catholic high-school and was engaged by an exhibition girls' soccer-team match against a visiting summertime mainland United States girls'-team, a match which was won (wow) by the hometown (Hawaiian) girls' team, and it was a marvelous victory for the Fury (3-1). Afterwards, I started to inquire about being employed by the high-school, as a science teacher, so that I might become the Fury assistant/head coach! This was the thought, "Did travel renovate my consciousness?" ![]() Well, it wasn't an 'evangelized' decision I made right-away, so I then darted to the Hawaii Library where I started reading Treasure Island and then various history books about relations between Hawaiians and mainland Americans, and I started thinking 'seriously' about this new-life 'ideation' of renovating my life (entirely) to make it completely Hawaiian. I spent hours at the library, and I finally came to my decision. ![]() I visited a craft-and-toy/games store on Oahu where I purchased a very-fine hand-crafter (authentic!) Hawaiian artistic chess-piece themed board/set. I decided I'd try to meet a nice girl on the island(s) and get married and continue my robotics/capitalism research and writings from home (Oahu), through the Internet. ![]() HANA: It's been great meeting you, Amlan. AMLAN (Me): Thanks Hana; it's been great finding re-awakening on Oahu this summer (really). HANA: I love that you love my cooking, sweetheart! AMLAN: I'm in love with you...because of it (wow). HANA: Let's get married, Amlan. AMLAN: I was just thinking that...maybe I've just been too much...of a photographer (hmm). ![]() JOURNAL: Hawaii changed my mind; the water, Church, Hana, soccer, chess-craft, everything; still work in science; in Oahu. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
