Serious Series St.

Serious Series St.

A Story by Abishai100
"

Narrated fan-portrait of what's made the World Series of Western baseball in the media-era of fan-driven capitalism a 'hallmark' of American chess/euphoria.

"
A tribute to what makes the American World Series (MLB) a media-era treat, inspired loosely by Mr. Destiny (Michael Caine).

I was afflicted with the Coronavirus which I came out of, but during my tribulation-period, I was cheered on by my hometown/community friends and family while I cheered on the World Series of baseball in the United States. My name's Amlan Satan, and I'm a princely-inheritor of fortunes living in New England (Boston) and love baseball-cards and baseball chess and baseball games and met my wife at a baseball game too (ha).

With the upcoming anticipated World Series matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros, I can't help but remember my childhood years living in Philadelphia, when my family moved to the United States, and I grew up cheering for Mike Schmidt and started collecting baseball cards. Since then, I've collected many iconic cards/sets from various companies (Topps, Upper-Deck, Score, etc.), and in fact, my collection now boasts/toasts what makes this great iconic American pastime/sport a 'diadem' for Earth-society excellence (a 'chess' of the human spirits).

You might catch an American President on live (national!) TV throwing the first-pitch of a World Series game in the United States, a sort of folk-ritual that has become a practice-custom re-presenting an 'American' pitch for human/social storytelling and culture (hmm).

Since 9/11, the world's been on-edge about the 'quality' of human race ideations of Homeland Security issues and domestic traffic safety in this post-Industrialization and post Cold-War ideations of great commercial sanity, but it's also prompted great forms of patriotism storytelling and even movies (wow).

What helps us Americans get past this trauma of 9/11 or other American 'tribulations' like the Coronavirus is the media-broadcast era 'flowery' surrounding that oh-so fantastic October-Halloween season of the baseball playoffs leading up to the great World Series, which has even inspired great Hollywood superstars make theme/story appearances and role-plays for the sport of baseball in this great exciting time of human magazine-culture oriented capitalism/excellence.

Well, when I was a young boy, the love of video-games extended to finding great games on various sets/platforms (Nintendo, Playstation) which touted what makes/made baseball such a 'personalized' pastime of fitness joy and athletics-fun. It's a 'chess' of the heart, and you 'feel' like you're immersed in the youth-magic of bat-ball dimension(s).

The history of the World Series of baseball in the Americas has prompted many historians and even scholars and film-makers to cast this great athletic pastime as an 'image' or photograph of the human dominion of stellar celebrity (or eccentricity!).

There's nothing like a cool summertime baseball game at the park/stadium in your hometown-city paired with a delicious ketchup-frank and beer as the season makes its way to that magical October-playoff season which culminates in the World Series that's certainly worth its weight-in-gold regarding diorama-energy (or escape!).

BASEBALL CARD STORE MERCHANT/OWNER: The cards/sets I sell and boast/toast remind fans/consumers of baseball-chess.

My name's Amlan Satan, and I'm a lifelong baseball-fan and lover of all things baseball. Sure, I love all kinds of sports/games, including social-media pastimes (e.g., Facebook-chess), but as a US-patriot and lover of media-broadcast era sports/baseball storytelling, I find great fun re-presenting my 'Selfie'-dates as diadems of American chess (or competition-sportsmanship).

"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring" (Roger Hornsby).

WIFE: Mr. Satan loves baseball; he loves the 'chess' of baseball, and the 'stalemate' of peace wrought from sportsmanship, which is why this fanfare extends to sunny baseball comments/pokes on social-media...a terrific American/Western ideation of what's made media-era networking a simply 'human' dream.

In conclusion, what I've to say about baseball, and the World Series, which has yielded so many stories and romances, of champions (A's), underdogs (Reds), intrigue (Eight Men Out), and general Western/American diamonds. Well, I sometimes wonder what my life would've been had I played baseball rather than becoming a sports-writer, if I entreated my fascination with athletics more than literature/writing, but my life's perfect as it is --- and I have World Series TV to thank for that 'funny' feeling.
