A Separate Peace (Adaptation)

A Separate Peace (Adaptation)

A Story by Abishai100
"

Radically differing twin teachers in Pennsylvania must come to a 'separate-peace' following a potential 'edge' created by natural competitive chess/entropy.

"
A thoughtful 'sibling-spin' on the iconic American work A Separate Peace (John Knowles).

This is the story of two brothers, twins, at the U-Penn psychology department who grew up as close but estranged by stark differences in attitude/consciousness, with one being more psychotic and hence more like a 'patient' for psychology and the other more mature/grounded and more the 'teacher' or Big Brother for Earth-chess.

Ajay Satan is the more wild brother of the twins, and he liked writing in journals about the inevitable realism behind bifurcated imagination/psyche creating strong ideations of natural competitiveness and used chess-stalemate algorithms to create psychology-models of 'rebellious' A.I. concept-minds/beings and shared these ideations liberally on social-media (e.g., Facebook-chess).

Amlan Satan is the more grounded/mature of the twin-set at U-Penn and liked writing in journals of how stalemate-chess, a special condition in the iconic/historic piece-position movement strategy board-game of symmetry/diagonals for political decision-making modeling, which yields a perfect parallel between the opponents or tie/draw or 'no-win' decision because of ultimate equilibrium or 'position' freeze(s), re-presented a human thought concept regarding a 'consensual' form of competition-equivalence for either peace or intelligence-conference between two like-minded brains.

AJAY: I'll tell you what we shared growing up as twins in New England, brother --- a fascination with tech.
AMLAN: This is the age of media-tech, Ajay, and I do remember us going through modern TV catalogs for fun!
AJAY: You get the sense(s) that this was 'premonition' for our current work with brain-orientation geometry.
AMLAN: True; but I also feel 'grounded' in the IQ that TV-catalog play likens to equivalences in capitalism!

Ironically enough, the twins (Ajay/Amlan) both shared a passion for media-arts/entertainment and therefore TV-tech and remote-controls and the 'lifestyle-translation' to the 'living' experience of watching television/movies in the Western world and even had a handful of movies (Hollywood) they equally praised, such as Bright Lights, Big City (Michael J. Fox), a treatise on the friendships-betrayals endurance typical of flurried life in the traffic-centric cities of America, a signpost of intelligence-elongation(s).

AJAY: Let's intersect our work(s) over a game of stalemate-chess dare with this Alien set I got from Penn.
AMLAN: Sounds promising, Ajay, but I'm to confess I doubt the links between sci-fi and stalemate-peace!
AJAY: Of course you do...that's because you're not thinking 'deeply' about race/species ambition(s).
AMLAN: That's plausibly humbling, but aliens might draw stalemate for competition log too (not fury)!

AJAY: Let's play, Amlan.
AMLAN: You're using a rather machine-offensive queen-knight advance with your Predator-alien set.
AJAY: Damn; you're countering with a queen-knight double-line leverage with your Xeno-alien set, Amlan.
AMLAN: We've reached that 'stalemate' condition(s) game you prioritized/demanded, eh?
AJAY: Damn; I suppose we've reached a 'science-fiction' concept accord for competition-IQ elongation(s).
AMLAN: That's good.

Ajay/Amlan had both been extremely popular U-Penn teachers in the psychology department and their local visit to a girls' Catholic school in Pennsylvania (United States, Earth) yielded a very 'gorgeous' fanbase of chess-women who liked to use stalemate-diagrams to create special gender-relations writings for cyber-journals (Dartmouth). However, Ajay/Amlan realized after a short-time that they'd both been courting the same Pennsylvania girl online (Tandy).

INTERVIEW: You've no idea what caused Amlan's fall to his death from the campus-treehouse, Ajay?
AJAY: If I was responsible, as many warrant, because I'm the infamously wilder twin, I'd not tell you!
INTERVIEW: What do you mean?
AJAY: There's a 'separate peace' (perhaps) to 'wrought' stalemate(s) between twins of envy, for secrecy.
INTERVIEW: Aha.
