The Philadelphia Quiche

The Philadelphia Quiche

A Story by Abishai100
"

Two Philly-residents court an affair during the sports/holiday media season and use the waves of fate to entreat 'human' ease.

"
A treatise on lifestyle-IQ oriented dynamic romance and the 'emotion' of setting-based social/emotional 'transcendence' inspired by the excellent relevant/themed film Sleepless in Seattle (Tom Hanks).

====

Two Philly residents celebrated the ascension of the Phillies (baseball) to the World-Series during the great successes of the other pro-sports city team, the Eagles (football) in the post-9/11 era of Coronavirus-prayers for city-traffic and met each other at a Catholic church in the City of Brotherly Love on a Saturday morning in 2022, during the Thanksgiving season. Follow along!

MONICA: I'm a big fan of social-media (e.g., Facebook-chess) and met this fellow (U-Penn teacher), a fan of Twitter.
AMLAN: I like perusing albums/photo-mosaics of Philly-citizenry on social-media for ideations on democratic exchange(s).

The two fell in love and discovered their shared 'affection' for Philadelphia Cream Cheese spread(s) with bagels, toast, and toasted hot-dog buns. They decided to get married.

MONICA: We wanted to go roller-skating in the park together as we'd done separately before we met and fell in love.
AMLAN: I was in great spirit, but when the Phillies lost, felt dejected, and skating didn't seem the grade, and I copped-out.
MONICA: I thought everything was great until that Series-loss, which reminded us of the 1993 loss to Toronto.
AMLAN: Suddenly, I'd felt 'conscious' of the fact that city-sports spirits/fanfare dejection would affect an everyday love-IQ.

To help them get-over this moral deflation and re-inject life into their courtship, Amlan/Monica decided to get a 'cool' Vanna-White exercise/fitness-lifestyle video and used it to work-out their moral woe(s) regarding the deflating loss of the upstart/underdog Philadelphia Phillies in the 2022 series and started feeling 'passion' in their relationship once more, and they decided to continue cheering for the Eagles (football) for the remainder of the city media-broadcast sports holiday-season, remembering what made TV 'excess' so excellent in the Western-world (personal diary expos!).

MONICA: I got Amlan this 'fantastic' video-game heroine painting/artwork for his Twitter-tweets about multiculturalism!
AMLAN: I 'believe' the Eagles can make a 'cool' run to the Super Bowl this season.
MONICA: I'm going to get an Eagles Xmas-tree blanket for the holidays.
AMLAN: It's so 'cute' the way we cast multiculturalism for the images of artistic/creative/inventive emigration.

With energy reinfused into their love-life because of a renewed 'sense' of media-engagement and sports-fanfare and hope, Monica/Amlan decided to take a photo-collage of city-wall murals/paintings/flyers of Coronavirus endurance imagery all around the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia) for their shared cyber-blog/presentation about urban prayers during the cold/wintry holiday-season (2022)!

MONICA: My father passed away this December; I hope the Eagles-TV will raise our spirits for the New Year's canon.
AMLAN: I just want to get married now and put-behind us all this 'hell' of post-9/11 age Philly-angst evil (forever!).

I do appreciate the time/energy you take personally to offer these strong commentaries about how worried you are about copied pictures and wasted space, but you suggested that if I 'learned' more about writing, my readers might look forward to my shorts/stories on WritersCafe more, and to that end (and I intend to offer just one more short before retiring --- an Xmas-short set in Chicago), I'll try to think more 'consciously' about how content/legalese is as 'vital' as the communicated subject(s), as if my readers know more about why they'd care about the topics/themes than I would, since, after all, as you suggested, I'm simply trying to 're-present' the matters through my 'bias' view(?).

I do pledge to make a much more concerted effort to make these stories (with images about placement and never about solicited origin-views/beliefs/religion) more 'accessible' in terms of theme-appeal and applicability to stories that readers themselves might find 'cool' to create on their own by translation/enhancement/improvement(s).

Hope that helps (I was beginning to worry more about your worry about my writing than myself!)!

Thanks again for that extra-energetic time/interest (in any case!),

• Two Philly residents celebrated the ascension of the Phillies (baseball) to the World-Series during the great successes of the other pro-sports city team, the Eagles

The OTHER sports teams? Basketball, soccer, and hockey don't count? Seriously? All of those teams have taken championship titles. All re professional, and have a city full of fans

Writing is a lot more than spewing your personal views and copying pictures from the internet without attribution. It's more than an excuse to post your picture and fantasize, over and over. So do your research!

• The two fell in love and discovered their shared 'affection' for Philadelphia Cream Cheese spread(s)

You say that as if the brand is somehow connected to Philadelphia. But it originated in Lowville, New York, and is still made there.

Day after day you post writing that no one but me comments on because you're too lazy to learn HOW to write fiction, when with a bit of study you could have fans who look forward to your stories. You spend your day writing. Why not spend that same time learning how to write?
