I lived in the United States after moving here from Algeria after politics complexity worry and a yearning for improved educational environments and was admitted into Dartmouth where I studied science and eventually became a dentist in New England. Along the way, I transcended my challenging 'Algerian' youth and came to embrace Western-world traffic-life amenities and even became a video-game aficionado in modern American social-media/'Selfie' culture (ha).

On 9/11, the world was 'awakened' to the darker reality that the American Homeland, despite its showcased life-amenities, wasn't merely immune to the threat of anti-Western terrorism and watched the World Trade Center destroyed by hijacked passenger-planes and remembered my challenged youth in complicated Algeria (wow).

I began to think about the quality of American securities and from my teen-years growing up as an 'American' in New England (from Algeria!) developed a great spirit admiration of chess-sportsmanship/strategy and sports in general and got myself a 'cool' Sox-Yankees chess-set for my birthday and thought about why American capitalism/media focused on the 'diagrams' of nearly-perfect competition storyboards (hmm).

JOURNAL: The 'science' of competition-behaviors in Western civilization is a human race expression of Ego.

I became a huge fan of the Duke Blue Devils men's college basketball program in the United States and how it captured all the modern social-psyche 'drama' and emotion-romance of media-broadcast era sports 'access' to student-athlete life and educational-environment gearing for capitalism 'ethos' of competition 'training' and life-energy psychology. Duke wasn't my alma-mater but was (arguably) the modern UCLA Bruins-like 'trophy-team' for college-sports media in America, and cheering on the team/stars reminded me why competition, like capitalism/media, is a 'toast' for socialized distances...and organized magic.

When I graduated from college, my ex-girlfriend (Tandy) sent me by mail for my birthday a very special 'magic' treasure --- a 'cool' 1999 Strike-Force (Upper Deck) Randal Cunningham post-Philadelphia career Super Bowl ambition/visions (Viking!) sports transfer-market card gem. She told me, "You've always been 'pensive' about the 'chess' of capitalism/sportsmanship, and this team-transfer 'magic' sports-card will remind you (me thinks!) of your special immigration-journey Mr. Satan and what it'll bring you...for 'real' money!"

REPLY: This is perfect; I'll think of it as some kind of 'jewel' of the Nile, honey-bee.

So, I packed my bag and drove to Atlantic City, the casino-resort 'daydream' city by the sea, the Eastern-Vegas of risk-fortune storyboards, and thought about what this 'fantasy' Strike-Force Cunningham-QB magic-card I got for my special post-grad birthday meant to my ideations of the proverbial American Dream, my pursuit(s) in medicine/career, and my 'absolute' love of chess/sportsmanship/sports and what it illuminated (in me!) about Western-world 'living' expression. I thought about that iconic fortune-film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder).

TANDY: Oh, I bet you love that movie, Mr. Satan --- it's right up your alley (there) --- a treatise on chess-gold.

REPLY: Excellence; damn, right; it's a nice symbol of American Dream expressions (of computed money)!

Living as a successful dentist now in New England, I think of my 'love' of Duke/Tandy and my newfound interested in the very-cool Porcellian cyber-chess society, and my enthusiasm for pre-Thanksgiving 'American' quiche --- and how I 'escaped' Algeria to now embrace the forms of post-9/11 age 'intelligence' to make my life that of a 'prince' of success, of 'real' money (wow).

TANDY: I got that comics stick-figure doodle you sent me by mail, of a vigilante-heroine duet of 'ethics' (ha).

REPLY: I knew you'd think of it when you remembered what/how that sports 'magic' (card) gave me eternity!

Now, I play with cyber-chess pals online and gave myself the net-alias 'Falcon' (signifying) my 'personal-flight' into the colored contours of the American Dream, and why that Strike-Force Cunningham purple-QB magic-card of Super Bowl visions became my 'trophy' of post-immigration 'photo' Ego (or flight!). My parents would be proud.
