School-CakeA Story by Abishai100Shirley is a post-9/11 high-school spirit-star with patriot-eyes and a 'cool' teacher (Mr. Satan) who hopes 'school-cake' cures the now-terrorism deadlock.
An homage to 'school-color' inspired by my own high-school memory and various movies!

==== Shirley was a proud cheerleader of the Eastern-high Vikings squad but also one of the more private members of the cyber-activated Eastern chess-club called Porcellian in the modern United States of activity-drawn social-media and photo-sharing in the post-9/11 era/world of network-driven resilience to modern threats to commercial life and education (hmm). ![]() SHIRLEY: I look forward to excellence in chess/football this year and 'certain' Vikings can blacken rivals Shawnee/Highland. ![]() Sure, the Viking-squad of football had seen much glory-days alongside some of its other school success-story athletics teams including the girls' field-hockey team and the boys' cross-country team, but the football team is where Shirley participated as a junior-year cheerleader and was eager to offer school-spirits in the post-9/11 era of 'cool' social-media linked to activity of youth-IQ/diagrams! ![]() SHIRLEY: We downed Cherokee and Lenapee but lost a nail-biting heartbreak to Shawnee but bounced back to win (Highland). ![]() Meanwhile, her other activity for the Eastern Vikings school, the Porcellian, encouraged her to think about how chess-diagrams and 'stalemate-intelligence' for the iconic competition piece-strategy board-game of offense-defense balances would mimic/reflect real-world politics-decisions ingenuity diagrams as varied as the Cold-War and the Russo-Ukraine War in the post-9/11 era of games-drawn social-media 'chats' surrounding youth-commentary on adult-world dilemmas! SHIRLEY: Chess can 'feel' like life, and my Eastern examination (stalemate-program) offered insights into 'academic' genius! ![]() The chess-club Shirley was cheering was in fact part of a vibrant cyber-network too and had become an 'extension' of youth-activity applications to normal overground cyber-traffic and playgrounds, and Shirley felt like a young woman discovering the 'cool' quality of social-world/competition or imagination exercise nutrition. SHIRLEY: Talking with pals at the cafeteria during lunch-break drew cool chats about competition and lifestyle on Earth now! ![]() Sure, the post-9/11 era made great 'social imagineers' of modern students at every level, concerned about the youth-duty to learn more about the normal traffic patterns of the Homeland and why they should care, at the local-level, about patriot-game civics matters like cafeteria-program nutrition information brightness, student cohesion for academic groups/clubs (e.g., 'Porcellian'), and athletics funding oriented media-investments for general 'community' lore helping us all get over that horrific 'Invasion' of the New York homeland in 2001. SHIRLEY: It felt like Armageddon on 9/11 (wow). ![]() MR. SATAN (Eastern History Teacher): Why're you interested in 'Cold-War' chess, Shirley? SHIRLEY: Well, that Fischer-Spassky rivalry was excellence in politics-controversy, right ? MR. SATAN: Sure, it was; but that era is long-past; what do you learn now about modern problems? SHIRLEY: I do care about modern/relevance like the Russo-Ukraine tribulation, but Fischer-Spassky was legend! MR. SATAN: Sure, it was; in fact, I'm a big fan of Bobby Fischer (and chess!), Shirley; I'm impressed by your question. SHIRLEY: What do you make of the 'link' between history and politics heaviness, Mr. Satan? MR. SATAN: Thanks for asking, Shirley; I think it's a 'game' for the 'aliens' and 'races' of conspicuous capitalism. SHIRLEY: That's interesting...are you going to watch the Vikings compete against Shawnee in the rematch? MR. SATAN: Of course, and I'm bringing my pocket-magnet mini-chess board to mimic the game in the bleachers. SHIRLEY: That's cool! MR. SATAN: I hope to see you on the field (cheering), and I'll wave to you and flash you my chess-board. SHIRLEY: Why aren't you part of our Porcellian chess-society (Eastern)? MR. SATAN: Well, Shirley...I tend to play 'privately' (kind of like you in a way), but I welcome student-questions. SHIRLEY: Thanks for answering mine today (in your office now)...you've always struck me as a teacher of care! MR. SATAN: Cool...remember the most valued lesson gained in youth-activity spirit/participation is 'true' romance. SHIRLEY: Romance, Mr. Satan? MR. SATAN: Of course...without romance, football, chess, the Cold-War, or anything else feels like stale pizza, young lady. SHIRLEY: Pizza (mmm). MR. SATAN: Yeah...that's why I always consider myself 'drawn' as a sharp-dressed education-person of 'romance' Ego (ha)! SHIRLEY: A 'Romantic' is what Eastern needs; it's what we all need, man. MR. SATAN: Yeah...this is a time of terrorism, Shirley; social-media 'pals' brighten the 'dark' Earth of this race. ![]() Turns out Shirley's favorite Eastern-teacher (Mr. Satan) departed from the December season of football/chess to travel to Qatar to watch/cheer the Argentina-France final/championship game, since he'd been an 'avid-fan' of the world-sport and this Qatar event was the first-time a Muslim country would host the iconic soccer-tourney in the post-9/11 era, and Mr. Satan hoped to join the crowds cheering as 'diplomats' of the capital race and reunite with his wife in that area of Earth during the social-media 'buzz' exercise (wow). ![]() SHIRLEY: Being 'American' requires an 'eye' for beauty and adventure, and I've the stimuli to make a 'memory' of 9/11. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
