A treatise on the 'insider' features/feeling/expression of modern media-broadcast era sportsmanship/competition/class examination, inspired by Slap Shot (Paul Newman).

The Penguins of Pittsburgh offered ice-hockey fans in the media-broadcast era 'excellence-chess' in the cheers of choreographed social activity that went to life-fantasy about fitness/wellness.

Of course, Pittsburgh, city of the Penguins lore, was also the site of great social-traffic mysticism and religious spirit and not just sports, but sports brought 'sportsmanship' ethics consciousness for the 'Pennsylvanian city of light' and money, and two special fans had a 'cool' ice-hockey themed chess-set which they used to talk about stalemate-IQ relevant of Cold-War politics (Fischer-Spassky) and modern tourism-securities (anti-terrorism).

The two characters using the Penguins/ice-hockey 'chess' imagination on social-media and media-language included a movie-industry 'character' and a neo-liberal cyber-blogger writing about the Russian defection of the guerrilla state of Chechnya, and they'd both been invested in modern forms of human race expression of 'creative' self-identification.

The movie-man was a fan of the Islanders of New York but equally of the Penguins, while the cyber-blogger, born and raised in Pittsburgh to Algerian-American (US-citizen!) parents, was a die-hard Penguins fan and had Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby player-market trade-cards of great value, which he boasted about on social-media and in his cyber-blogs.

MOVIE-MAN: The Islanders shall destroy the Penguins in the ice-hockey playoffs, and I'll watch Game 5 on my KLM-flight!

CYBER-BLOGGER: You're a Western celebrity-thinker and cast NY as 'advanced' and offer 'Euro'-charms ahead of Penguin-IQ!

What made ice-hockey so 'incompletely cool' for the modern flurry of cyber-movie activity and capitalism-mass was its symbolism of 'cool icy body movements' for sportsmanship/competition which reminded fans/audiences of the 'electric' grids of seemingly endless 'online' activity for capitalism-defenses such as eBay (signposts of the 'evolution' of human energy itself!).

MOVIE-MAN: The Penguins won, and I'm deflated in this icy mess conversation about challenges posed by the New Yorker.

CYBER-BLOGGER: Indeed, and I'd warned you not to stay so close to NY for ice-hockey media-dazzle/chess for Game 5, bud!

Can a man in the movie-industry be a sportsmanship or 'chess' rival/conversationalist with a cyber-blogger in this age of inventive social networking, especially if the two media world/tech 'characters' use identity-masking 'aliases' (or avatars)? Of course they can, and this rivalry exchange concerning the Penguins marvelous triumph in Game 5 on social-media revealed that new era chats surrounding capitalism-broadcasts were 'attacked' by terrorists who despised this sort of 'overground' lifestyle patriotism (wow).
