I became a huge fan of Buffalo Bills football in the 1990s Jim Kelly era and learned to love the Western-American ritual of wings-zest treats for football games, with buttermilk Ranch dressing and began to think about what made me a prince of Earth sports-fanfare. Follow along.

I lived in Buffalo (NY/USA) for a short-time and learned to admire and cherish its special American tones of holiday-season charm and football fanfare colors and the idea that underdog teams of great teamwork could be cast as 'celebrity' for the media-broadcast era of society-oriented media (yes).

I got myself a fantastic Bills sweater when the Buffalo team resurrected itself after its string of Super Bowl losses in the heartbreaking but aspired Jim Kelly era of American/NY football. In fact, I realized that cheering for the Bills made me something of a 'chess' man of what makes American prayer so unique --- the human streets.

Sometimes when I think back on the losses of the Buffalo team in the 1990s in 4 consecutive Super Bowls, in the otherwise 'aspired' Jim Kelly era that put Buffalo Bills football in the national limelight, I realize no other team/QB really endured such a pattern of spirit-through-heartache since Fran Tarkenton's Vikings and wondered if I'd become a 'princely-poet' of the idea of sportsmanship itself in the social-media/Selfie age --- self-reflective society meditation.

The Bills have resurrected their franchise, first with a media 'splash' (albeit tiny) with the temp-acquisition of Drew Bledsoe, the once Marino-like hot-field gunner, and then with the 2nd decade of the new millennium phenomenon of the Josh Allen marshaled 'new-look' Buffalo team which would see much ambition and lofty playoff hopes, coupled with a string of amazing new-gen cheerleaders. This is what immigrants really like about American media --- 'windows' of great/social Ego.

I played chess with my darling son (Damian) at my Buffalo-home when I lived there for a short time, and I knew he'd develop in him what I loved about football too, especially when I got him a football-themed chess-set/toy --- Sunday wings-with-dressing, giant TV, Xmas-lights, halftime-chess, and social prayer.

I remember after the 1991 Super Bowl heartbreak loss of the Bills to the ambitious Giants (NY), the Jim Kelly team stormed back and reminded folks why legendary moments of that era of New York sports gave us famous media trophies, like that iconic 49ers-Bills game of '92, when scorelines matched field-drama. What's better than secured competition? It's a chess-match of 'human' Ego.

SPORTS-WIRE: With the return of Buffalo in the limelight, one has to wonder if the field's wide-open for fantasy chess in NY.

DAMIAN: Dear Dad, I still have that awesome football-chess set we used to play on in Buffalo (Xmas-season); Bills are back!

The moral of this story is an American media-fan can't underestimate the 'root' of his Sunday-love of wings-with-dressing and TV-cheerleader windows into NY sacredness --- it's the Bills who defined the underdog spirit of aspired football-play in the American Homeland, and it's a story that won't change (ever). You gotta believe in it.
