Stella@Library: Amazing Ragtime

Stella@Library: Amazing Ragtime

A Story by Abishai100
"

Will Stella the beautiful librarian find a rich magic-link with a Ragtime (music) study drawing a special 'human' reading?

"
Ragtime is such an unusual and offbeat form of music/cadence, arguably warranting its own 'vignette' or visage-tale, which is what this is, and I hope you like it (inspired loosely by Ragtime).

Stella had worked at the South Jersey library for some time now and began wondering if her recent/newfound fascination with ragtime-music would fuel a new daydream or imaginative adventure and make her feel even more 'bright' about the atmospheric splendor of a library-building already boasting quite a spectacular 'space' for brain-exercises (hmm).

STELLA: The plethora of images on social-media now catering to a citizenry fascination with in-house study and intellectual appreciation of human race themes and colors and experience and culture (and especially education!) gives one a 'feeling' that curiosity about a 'general' domain of excellence (e.g., Ragtime) could offer me/all a truly gifted 'sense' of complete distance(s).

When she was a young girl, growing up in Denver, she learned music from her piano-teacher, Madam Weinstein, and learned to embrace the full passion and offbeat magic of Scott Joplin's timeless Ragtime-wonder tune The Maple Leaf Rag. Would she find something 'novel' or inventive in this adult-age at the library concerning the cadence/expression of this iconic American tune?

Amlan Satan, an Ivy-professor, was visiting his hometown (South Jersey) and happened to be at Stella's library one glorious Saturday, after having a very delicious cheesedog at a local eatery called Ott's and hoped to pick up some cool reader-sheets and history-works concerning the magicians of Ragtime...and he wished to share his 'revelation(s)' on social-media (too!).

SATAN: I wanted to gift you these magical old-American girls' gem-pieces, Stella.
STELLA: You're quite 'forward' in your charms/graces, good fellow.
SATAN: I'm visiting the area and noted you're reading of a Joplin-piece at the library-desk, Stella.
STELLA: And you read my name-tag and wanted to charm the pants off me, eh (no)?
SATAN: You've guessed very correctly; in fact, Stella, I wonder if I may 'charm' your ragtime-soul.
STELLA: I'm just learning Ragtime phenomena myself (recent)!
SATAN: That's quite cool; I'm an Ivy-League teacher and interested in psychology-music links (brain).
STELLA: Wow...is there really a 'magic' to how the brain choreographs music-IQ?
SATAN: Yes...in fact, there's a strange 'chess' to how the brain may weave layers of harmonic texture.
STELLA: One might find some real 'dragon' in such brain-pursuit, no?
SATAN: That's true; you're rather brilliant; accept these gem-gifts (then) as tokens of my praise!
STELLA: Alright.
SATAN: And a Saturday-Eve dinner with my homeschooling-pupils who'll visit for Peanuts-chess time.
STELLA: Alright.
SATAN: This is a date!

That Saturday, Stella learned of Amlan Satan's extensive love of Ragtime 'themes' and how he'd apply his insights into that genre of 'magic' to his presentation to his chess-homeschooling pupils of South Jersey concerning the mystics of old-logic lore/puzzles who'd invest in the 'construction' of great eschewed/digestible weave-patterns of though/dance, to derive 'fantastic' beings and avatars of intelligence/theatrics (e.g., Jabberwocky!).

AMLAN: You see how this Peanuts-chess stalemate-demo affords us the 'lyric(s)' of eschewed genius?
STUDENT(S): Wow...this feels like a 'board' for a dance-time that's just like smart puzzles.
STELLA: Seems we're all part of some 'cool' reader-examination (no?).
AMLAN: Very cool.

Stella/Amlan got married and she helped him with his cyber-chess homeschooling and would never forget about how the cadence and 'eschewed magic' of Ragtime had delivered into her life, at her beloved and special library (South Jersey), a wonder-rich 'human' sense of 'incomplete' distance(s).

THE END
