Amlan Satan's English DistantA Story by Abishai100A traveling-man wrestles with secrecy, romance, ambition, and perhaps even (eventual) distance.
A nice adaptation/translation of The Bengali Night (Hugh Grant), which has personal interest/significance to me (personally!), since I've family relations with a famous writer/poet references in the production of this 'destined' film concerning Rabindranath Tagore (Indian Laureate). Enjoy (and thanks for reading!),

==== Catholic man from Algeria (Amlan Satan) had received a special job-commission from the great Bengali-Chicago businessman Emit Mukherjee and had accepted the invitation to move to America and find a great position as a power-plant personnel assistant/consultant and felt truly excited to make the leap-of-faith to leave his own land (and father!) and become an American dream advocate in the challenging Windy-City (wow). ![]() AMLAN SATAN: This gives me an 'adult-chess' view of dream-catching and New-World fortune; I'll share my Selfie on social-media (ha)! ![]() Having endured some mind-challenge in Algiers, Satan had become a world-traveler minded soul/spirit and drew some inspiration from the iconic Russian (Turgenev) novel about father-son migration/meditation drawing a human race expression of transcended emotional (or mental) borders. What would his contribution be --- to this 'page' of hegemony-examination? ![]() EMIT MUKHERJEE: So pleased to have you as an immigrant-sponsorship 'diplomat' of this modern capitalist race; I' consider this a wise business-investment in this new arena of personality-driven enterprise (American). ![]() Amlan Satan moved into the guest-room of Mr. Mukherjee's residence and discovered that he'd been living alone with his only daughter, a saree-fashion cyber-designer/merchant named Inuyasha and instantly fell in love with her, but Emit disapproved somewhat of this budding dinner-table conversational affection/romance between the two, since he was 'suspicious' of Satan's seemingly humble demeanor and wondered if he'd been something of a 'Bazarov' (Turgenev-reference), simply too 'complicated' for his Chicago home (with beloved Inuyasha). ![]() INUYASHA: My father (Emit) will never condone this romanticism (between us), Satan. AMLAN: Why, of course he shall, my secret-darling; we'll 'exploit' your saree-gift/marketing (ha). INUYASHA: I don't seek my enterprise in Chicago to 'collude' with our love. AMLAN: Don't fear, Inuyasha; for there's some 'dark' magic in social-media liberties. INUYASHA: Maybe, Amlan; maybe! ![]() Amlan Satan came up with the proposition to join forces with Emit's daughter and help her market her sarees in the United States and thereby 'develop' a more handsome/diligent bond with her and therefore (eventually) 'win' the right to seek courtship (and perhaps gain more 'dinner-table prestige' with her stern Bengali-father). This was the social-media 'advantage' blueprint for this immigrant-dreamer (wow). ![]() AMLAN: The love requires an ornament-fan for the finery I seek to give for an expression of American-Dream acquired society Ego (ha). ![]() Emit's housekeeper (Bianca) discovered Amlan Satan's private journal in his bedroom while cleaning his guest-room and in it, scribblings about his apparent/claimed 'blood-diamond infiltration' double-life 'agenda' in Chicago. She informed Emit, and he expelled Amlan...from America (forever). ![]() JOURNAL: "I'm exiled to the Alps now, in my new community; remembering only the 'tragic' loss of Inuyasha; I'm forever a dreamer (now); writing about the poetry of Romanticism in this world of migrations and ambition (hmm)." ![]() Now, despondent and overly-pensive, perhaps more 'depressed' about his absorbed meditation about his fascination with Turgenev, Amlan Satan had resolved to become a 'quiet-man' of secret cyber-intelligent labors with various capitalist race 'affairs' in Europe, and he wondered if he'd ever love (again)...as he'd loved Inuyasha (now a memory for his social-media conversational life of simple friendship-treaty!). ![]() Amlan Satan did find another love in this life-journey of the complications of what at-first seemed like a 'cool' English-translation of an 'old' Russian dream-omen (Turgenev) --- the lovely Swiss flight-attendant Elka for whom Satan bought a special 'classic' 20th-Century wristwatch. AMLAN: This clear watch (clearly) captures a 'dough' magic (for you, Elka). ![]() ELKA: I'll provide your life what was 'robbed' in Chicago --- superstition-examination. ![]() "Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone" (John Maynard Keynes). ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2023 Abishai100 |
