You get to decide which fate-unfolding is 'decisive' in this mythical misadventure in the woods regarding a 'dream-falling' Devil.

A fun woods tale featuring known lore of New Jersey (USA) and drawing on the structure/definition of the iconic Choose Your Own Adventure series of novels.

Laura had arrived at the cabin in the woods where she'd tracked the mythical creature-humanoid of non-Earthly evil called the Jersey Devil, deciding to abandon her wedding-day plans (still in white bride-dress!) when she received her team-tracker unit/force phone-call and report of the tracking of Laura's Devil to this certain woods-cabin where an office-party group of 5 were vacationing for the weekend (wow).

Fortunately for the valiant and quick-footed (and weaponized!) Laura, a local ice-hockey fellow and 'avid-fan' of hockey-Jersey lore named Amlan Satan, also tracked the Jersey Devil that weekend to that office-party woods-cabin and decided to abandon his sportsmanship-chess social-media activity on Earth (hmm).

AMLAN: We hunt this 'leviathan' my way, Miss Laura.

LAURA: I want to be part of this 'show' and catch that evil thing too!

AMLAN: Alright; alright --- if it crawls inside the cabin-chimney, we fight.

LAURA: Excellence; we could chase it around to ensure it doesn't do it.

AMLAN: Very cool (let's go then --- together!).

LAURA: Shoot, I see it --- is it going into the cabin-chimney?
AMLAN: Wow...at the very least this makes for 'cool' social-media image.

INTERVIEW: So what happened in that woods-cabin that Satan-hunt weekend?

LAURA: Whether or not the Jersey Devil went into the cabin/chimney was key.

INTERVIEW: The outcomes/consequence(s) differed greatly on that value.

LAURA: It's pretty interesting --- for social-media conversation (I mean!).

INTERVIEW: Excellence.

Did the Devil go into the cabin/chimney or be chased into the other part of the forest for Amlan/Laura to engage with (together!)? "When the Devil of evil went inside the cabin, Laura/Amlan anticipated it and broke through the party's/cabin window and began storming with rifles ablaze and shot the darn scary 'thing' of Earth and burned it to ashes in a fireplace-lighting. Amlan was declared the unofficial 'Big Brother' of the burial-journal/examination(s) proceedings and would win a special medal/award/recognition for this 'vigilante-heroics' and all the while insisted he'd write a cyber-comic adapted 'tale' involving Laura offering a key body-shifting gun-smoke allowing Satan the one-shot to the Devil's heart...an 'image' for democracy."

"When the Devil was chased by some rifle-shots by Amlan/Laura into the forest and securely away from the party-cabin in the woods, the creature tried to trick its hunters/trackers by climbing and trolling around tree-tops and required Amlan to scurry up to distract it while Laura took the fatal/perfect shot. They buried the creature in those darkened woods that very-same day and would attend a Jets/Lions game that autumn (together!) and think about how they (specifically Laura!) enabled the 'perfect' human race defense against the threat the Jersey Devil posed in simply creating a human-gathering (woods-cabin) fright-night re-presentation of the blood-moon of democracy."
