Stranger Forest: Eve's Breadfruit

Stranger Forest: Eve's Breadfruit

A Story by Abishai100
"

Will a crossing/camping young woman (of miracle) 'rescue' a threatened young man in the forest-cabin where the man's 'eschewed' daddy has concocted a 'hatred' scheme?

"
A forest misadventure inspired (very loosely) by Death and the Maiden (Sigourney Weaver).

Amlan and his alcoholic daddy (Emit) ventured into a vacation-weekend in an isolated cabin in the deep forest of North America where they'd hash-out their personal differences and work out some potential challenging father-son issues. Amlan reluctantly agreed to this 'wager' in the forest while on break from Dartmouth (college) but wasn't aware that Emit had a darker blueprint (for bloody-murder!) on the slate, and this would require some form of stranger miracle in that woods-cabin. Follow along, friends.

EMIT: While sharing whiskey, I'll wield my revolver to my damned son and reveal my hidden 'agenda' to kill him/myself and leave a poem about the forlorn hope of reconciling irreconcilable differences within the same family-unit, something I feared ever since immigrating to the West with dear Amlan and watching all kinds of graphic movies on cable-television (hmm).

AMLAN: I was 'truly' excited about this fantastic promise to resolve some hateful scenes with my troubled/alcoholic daddy, Emit, and this stranger forest wager is the right-stuff to work out the 'evils' in our deep hearts, but since getting to the cabin, gathering wood in the forest for cabin-fireplace flames, I started getting an 'eerie' criminal feeling that Emit had a secret/stranger 'agenda' in his brain, and I started to think about an 'omen' my Dartmouth pen-pal warned me about in accepting 'father-son' resolution 'promises' and thinking 'clearly' about the frailty of Earth's 'social' networks.

Amlan deduced his father's evil sub-agenda shrewdly while fathering fireplace wood for their cabin-time in those deep dark forests of North America. He decided to whip out some handy spare chemicals in his backpack and put together some ground-made hot corrosive HCL (acid!) and loaded the acid into the steel cartridge of the Cross-pen his father (Emit) gifted him for graduation, prepared to shoot/spray it at his head to flee from his clutches once he went back into the cabin to (simply) affirm the suspect-theory he now held this entire forest-cabin father-son bonding 'promise' was a 'test' for pure hyperbole.

Amlan wasn't going to get-away from his resolute/troubled daddy (Emit) that conveniently in that cabin, despite his on-spot 'ingenuity' to put-together that acid-pen as a defense-weapon for life-security, and he still needed a stranger miracle, and that miracle came (indeed!) in the form of a passerby-camper, a gorgeous woman in an Eagles-sweatshirt named Enya whom Amlan now had the 'genius-chess' plan to use to thwart any potential evil 'agenda' his darkened-mind father (Emit) harbored, and it would involve (ironically) a simple 'social-media friendship' post/comment about the 'serendipity' of discovered Earth-hospitality.

EMIT: Who's this stranger woman you've brought with you inside (to our cabin), son?
AMLAN: Father, this is my cyber-girlfriend (now) --- Enya; we just met (camping-cross).
EMIT: That's cool, Amlan; I suppose she wants to join us or watch us play chess (now)?
AMLAN: Indeed; in fact, she'll take photos of us playing chess on your new set (hmm).

EMIT: Damn...you've countered my queen-knight march with rook-bishop fancy-play.
AMLAN: Excellence; something Enya taught me for a 'human-trick' of flexibility.
EMIT: I'm highly anxious (suddenly); damn.
AMLAN: Enya and I intend to make a social-media 'faerie-tale' about this cabin-chess game.
EMIT: Hmm.

Amlan had a replica pair of diamond cufflinks made as a potential substitution-trick he'd perform in that cabin where he brought the original/pure diamond-cufflinks his daddy (Emit) gifted him for graduation-year along with the Cross-pen which was now (still) Amlan's hidden/secret acid-weapon (which he felt he'd no longer have to use!). Amlan slyly swapped the original cufflinks with the replica-pair while Enya was chatting to Emit about chess and afterwards informed Emit that he/Enya would now seek a retreat from the cabin to go camp at her forest-site (for the remainder of that 'haunting' weekend) and that Emit would have to stay-behind (and keep the diamond-cufflinks as a 'return-gift' of courtesy to warrant this 'pardon' of Amlan's company).

EMIT: You're just abandoning our camp-time (now), son?
AMLAN: Yes, dad; Enya's more important (now); keep the cufflinks (forgive me).
EMIT: Alright...have a nice time; and contact me when you get back into town.
AMLAN: Absolutely, Emit (thanx).

When Emit got back to his home and eventually discovered his son's 'return-gesture' cufflink 'gift' in the cabin was a fake/replica jewelry-set, he realized Amlan wished to place the replica-cufflinks as a message about why he'd wished to simply 'fly-away' from his daddy's presence and seek a brand-new life with Enya, his new girlfriend whom he met (miraculously!) in those woods that weekend. Emit bit his lip and concluded his shrewd Dartmouth-boy had 'flown-away' from his darker past and (secretly) blessed him to adorn/enhance/adopt all the flowery and laurels of civilization-life after college-graduation and embrace all that the Western-world had to offer to 'any' ingenious young-man of the capitalist-society with the vision/gumption to find 'wrought' daydreams in a 'sea' of insanity (wow).
