A world-gem 'adventure' of crime-noir proportion drawing on the modernism/worldliness thematics from the excellent heist-landscape 'aura' film Heat (Michael Mann), which I hope you like (and thanks for reading!),

Amlan Satan worked at the Salk/Cali area laser-examination department following his departure from NYC and discovered one night (late), while working on his cyber-presentation about Salk-laser studies linked to diamond-optics for vision-research enhancements (involving 'social-media culture friendly' citizenry-scientist investment/interest 'fan/investor' ID-card templates and graphic-design) through a misread email that there may've been some 'blood-diamond' (conflict-zone gems mined by warlords of Africa and smuggled around the globe for diamond-market/insurance veils and woes, possibly linked to 'rogue' terrorism finance!) packages shipped to his science-rooms as 'legitimate' Earth-minerals utilized for the laser-vision/eye cell/neuron linearity diagrams for which he'd been (otherwise) choreographing a 'grand' society media/cyber 'hospitality' marketing angle (wow).

DR. SATAN: "Wow, the breadth/scope of this use of diamond-stone geometry, with edges/linearity of mirror/lens angled 'cut' dynamics offering insights into vision-cell and neuron branching functionalism/shapes was going to 'justify' all this use of diamonds/lasers for our Salk/Cali area study, and now I'm simply/just 'paranoid' about all this 'blood-diamond' nonsense clouding (sullying!) our science-examinations of mineral/materialism handshakes (wow)."

INTERPOL: Blood-diamond corruption today threatens the world-gem exchange and makes for 'rogue' terrorism-finance woe!

Well, what could our protagonist-hero Sali/Cali area science-man of the modern Homeland do, now that he'd 'discovered' this blood-diamond unconscious conspiracy-line which no one of authority-figure quality seemed to detect was linked to his own diamonds-laser (materials/shipments) rooms and department/division was involved with (without knowledge!)? Dr. Satan decided to become an inside-man of James Bond quality in this 'character world' of treasure-motions and diamond-insurance veils and sneaked into the Salk/Cali diamond-storage facility masked and posing (with premade 'original' ID) of a storage-inventory journal-keeper and swapped the diamonds with fakes/replicas while having the 'lifted' diamonds marked and studied for their origins (online).

AMLAN: "These are 'certainly' blood-diamonds, and I'll create an insurance cleaner-game with a social-media storyboard concerning how these 'lifted' gems would draw attention regarding the quality of their origins, with respect to 'basic' gem-highways monitors for overground reports/conversations; perhaps this will draw social-media commentary in the Salk/Cali area concerning everyday commerce/mining handshakes (wow)."

WAITRESS (La Jolla): You look like 'James Bond' himself in that uniform/mask.

DR. SATAN: Darling, that's 'precisely' how I feel (just today!).

WAITRESS: Coffee.

DR. SATAN: And your phone-number?

WAITRESS: Looking for someone to disclose 'dark' secrets to, eh?

DR. SATAN: If you're the 'Esmerelda' to my Quasimodo (ha).

WAITRESS: Movie/books fan, eh?
DR. SATAN: Maybe you'll be a Salk-Cali area social-media 'model' for my laser-journal.

WAITRESS: Wow, sounds like a 'Cali' venture (certainly).

DR. SATAN: You're great; I need a science-ad (cyber) waitress-model anyways.

WAITRESS: I suppose this is my 'lucky' day, Mr. Bond.

Amlan and this darling-waitress who'd become his social-media (Salk/Cali) cyber-marketing ad/PR-campaign 'hospitality-model' (Danica) got married and had a darling-boy (Damian) for whom he bought a special Peanuts-media themed chess-set/toy, hoping to teach his baby-boy about the intelligence 'game' of modern capitalism-race ethics/value. Hopefully, his 'dark' memory of James Bond blood-diamond 'heroics' and the 'deed' of righteousness was the past (forever!).

DANICA: Happy, darling?
SATAN: Sure; I feel like an Earth-prince of treasure-island(s).

DANICA: Damian's real happy with his chess-toy (now), you know?

SATAN: I'll open a student (bank) account so he'll learn to be a 'prudent' capitalist!

DANICA: America's Dream...landscapes of fortune's readers, Mr. Bond.

SATAN: Ha (thanx).

Amlan/Danica shared a gorgeous Cali-beach home which Danica adorned with a 'guardian-Catholic' faerie statue (Esmerelda) and with which she'd tell her darling 'hero-scientist' about the Romanticism behind Earth's currency-life of optimism in this age of commerce-traffic...and darkness/mystery (wow).

DAMIAN: Wow, a Dunleavy-Duke (basketball) superstars (TV) card (for me)!

SATAN: Duke's prodigy-man of the 2001 (TV) national-title, sonny-boy.

DAMIAN: You really love TV, don't you?

SATAN: Sure, Damian; America's all about the 'diamonds' of heaven (for all).

Will we remember Dr. Satan's younger days as a heroics science-dude of the Salk/Cali area linked to a 'real' blood-diamond insurance veils exposure (on social media)? Surely, Amlan settled-down to forget this past of 'troubles' in the post-9/11 era Homeland (America) to simply reflect on his one-time 'deed' for value/confidence to offer the Western-world highway(s) a special 'shine' in this journal-view of what makes the American Dream safe (for all) --- the 'hospitality' of radians (ha).
